Crossrail Farringdon Eastern Ticket Hall Update We thank you for your patience whilst we continue with works as part of the Crossrail Farringdon station eastern ticket hall (the site bounded by Charterhouse Street, Lindsey Street, Long Lane and Hayne Street). Methods and hours of working: ‘Top down’ construction of the ticket hall continues deep within the shaft. By Easter, Level -3 will complete, followed by excavation to Level -4 and commencement of slab construction. Over the next six months, this process will repeat until the shaft is sunk to Level -7. Works are being carried out on a 24 hours per day, 7 days a week basis and are subject to the conditions of consent from the City of London, and are carefully planned to minimise noise. 24 hour operations are limited to the following: • Tunnel support grouting activities • Excavating material from the shaft • Casting concrete slabs • Core holes through the retaining wall on Barbican Station during LUL Engineering Hours (01:00 to 05:00) Extended hours (up to 19:00 Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 Saturday and Sunday): • Breaking and power tools are limited to core and extended hours Monday to Saturday • 24/7 permitted for slab construction on Sundays. Lorry Movements: Muck away will be restricted to 05:00 and midnight. Lorries will use authorised routes, and will enter the site via the gates located on Charterhouse Street and will exit onto Lindsey Street, then proceeding right on Long Lane.

Duration of work • Eastern Ticket Hall construction will continue until 2018, when the Crossrail project is completed

What to expect • 24 hour operations limited to specific activities • Extended working hours limited to specific activities

What we will do • Schedule noisy work to core daylight hours where possible • Monitor noise and dust and keep within levels as agreed with Local Authority • Monitor the method of working to ensure best practice is employed at all times • Ensure that you are duly updated at each phase of works as the work progresses at the Eastern Ticket hall • Removal of materials off site will not take place between midnight and 05.00hours • Keep the impact of the construction on the public ,to a minimum by using the best practicable means possible
