16 June – Lost-Time Injury Traffic Marshall trapped a finger while closing a manual arm barrier at the main entrance. Appointment made to see specialist following visit to A&E. 2 days lost-time

15 June – RIDDOR Reportable Injury A forklift driver suffered a fracture to his lower leg. The driver lost his footing after stepping down from his vehicle onto uneven ground. 15 June – Lost-time Injury Security officer trapped a finger while operating the vehicle access barrier to site. The injured person was taken to hospital for further checks. 1 day lost-time.

10 June – Lost-time Injury Whilst unstacking soldier beams from a pile, one of the beams fell striking one of the two operatives involved in this process. This resulted in swelling of the foot/ankle of the injured person. 1 day lost-time

C405 Paddington Station Advanced Piling & Main Works

Whilst closing a vehicle manual arm barrier at the Paddington main station entrance, a traffic marshal has trapped his little finger between a bolt and the barrier. The operative has attended the local hospital and given an appointment to see a specialist tomorrow. Investigation instigated.

C435 Farringdon Station Main Works (Platform, Tunnels, Fit Out)

SCL – IP drove forklift onto invert. IP dismounted cab and stepped on the edge of the invert where the invert meets the sand backfill which protects the protruding waterproofing membrane (Joint between Invert and crown of secondary lining). There was a difference in level between the invert concrete and the sand backfill of about 35mm which caused the IP to step awkwardly on his ankle. At the hospital, an X-ray revealed that the IP had suffered “Avulsion Fracture to the left Distal Fibula”. The IP was given an aircast boot and crutches and has been advised to refer to the fracture clinic when swelling has gone down. An investigation has commenced.

C530 Plumstead & Woolwich Fit Outs

Servest security officer whilst engaged in access control duties caught his finger in the operation of the manual vehicle access barrier to site, sustaining injury to finger. IP taken to hospital for further checks and cleaning of the wound. BB currently undertaking investigation.

C512 Whitechapel Station Main Works

Whilst unstacking strong back soldier beams from a pile one of the beams fell, striking one of the two operatives involved in this process. This resulted in swelling and discomfort of the foot/ankle of the. Investigation is ongoing.
