! Your first Axis+ event is coming up! !

! ! !

#Friends#Future will kick your year off by exploring some of the trends of summer and talking about how our friends influence our future. This dynamic, relevant presentation analyzes the questions “Why do I need friends?” and “Who are my friends and how are they shaping my life?” In a world saturated with technology, the next generation is not only being discipled by their real, physical friends, but also by the entertainment and social media they download each day. Ultimately we show that while music, movies and technology may have a similar influence as friends, they cannot replace the real life friendships and relationships that we need to thrive. The presentation ends with two challenging questions to move your students from apathy to action: “Who are you surrounding yourself with?” and “Who are you investing yourself with in real life?” Because ultimately if you show me your friends (#Friends), I will show you your future (#Future).  We are excited for you to experience this event and want to make sure things go smoothly for you on the technical side. Here are some things you need to know to help your event run smoothly:

!

Viewing the Presentation The video is 50 minutes long, which includes a 6 minute intro to be playing as your students enter and find their seats. The actual content of the presentation starts at 6:10. Once the countdown ends, we suggest you pause the video to introduce the session. We will be providing you with a worksheet to use during the presentation in order to take notes and follow along with the content in the presentation. Have your IT department test the set up and presentation at least 1 day before viewing, we would also recommend you as the facilitator to watch the presentation before the event. • Preload/buffer the presentation at least 20 minutes before viewing • Test sound levels prior to presentation

• There are two breakout questions during the presentation: 1. What did you do this summer? 2. What is your favorite social media app? There is a one-minute timer in the presentation, but you may want to pause the video to give your students a little extra time to discuss their answers.

• After the presentation, read the answers to the worksheet blanks out loud to make sure everyone caught everything.
