CTP Conductivity Sensor - Reference Calibration Due to the sensitivity of the Stainless Steel probe tips of the CTP Probe’s Conductivity sensor, when a reference solution is going to be used to calibrate the Conductivity measurement value, the calibration must be performed in the same environment as the “T” manifold in which the probe is normally installed. Therefore we advise that an actual probe “T” manifold be used to perform any reference solution calibrations. Turning the manifold sideways and using a standard 1 inch pipe plug to seal the bottom will create a handy calibration fixture, as shown below. Then the probe can be removed from the water treatment system and screwed into the side of the fixture and the reference solution can be poured into the open top. Remember to follow the triple-rinse and other procedures associated with doing a proper reference calibration.

If a “bench top” fixture is desired, simply cutting a hole in a suitable material, such as the dense foam block shown above, will support the probe body when screwed into the side of the fixture, and allow the assembly to sit securely on a flat surface.
