DIGGING DEEPER 1. Read 1 Corinthians 11:1. Other than offering sound advice, how does this passage lead us in understanding the essence of 1 Corinthians 11? 2. Read 1 Corinthians 11:2-3. In these verses, is Paul saying that the husband is superior to the wife? Explain your answer. 3. Read 1 Corinthians 11:4-12. Although the subject discussed is head coverings, what is the more important lesson from these passages? Also,discuss the following specific verses: a. 1 Corinthians 11:5-6. What was the significance of a shaved head for a woman in the Corinthian culture? b. 1 Corinthians 11:7-9. Summarize what Paul is saying in these verses. What does this convey about the relationship of men and women (specifically husbands and wives)? Discuss your answers.
