Dangerous Prayers Search Me August 14, 2016 Text: Psalm 139 (p.522) God wants us to have the fullness of life – now, and much more importantly, forever and ever and ever. He longs to _____________ His children. (Hb. 11:6; Mk. 10:29-30; Jn. 10:10) And that is why we should pray these life-altering, life-giving, dangerous only to our ___________ _________ prayers. _________ _____, ____ ________! Adam and Eve sinned the first sin that __________ humanity. The first two things Adam and Eve did after they sinned were acts to hide. And to this day we still tend to try and hide. But what David of old does here is to meditate on the omniscience of God, the all-knowing nature of God, knowledge that isn’t just __________ but it’s ___________ as well. But David didn’t see God’s ___________ knowledge of him as frightening or nightmarish.

He actually saw it as ______________ – a chance to actually grow and change so He can be led by God into the way everlasting, into abundant life. I need to grow, God. _________ ______! A common thought for most people in our world today is that humans are born with _________ _________ that need to be helped just a little, tweaked a smidge. That only isn’t biblical but counters the very heart of Jesus. Without Jesus the human heart is ________. (Jer. 17:9) Isaiah didn’t do what most of us do when confronted with the holiness of God. I think what most of us tend to do is ____________ ourselves to others. (Is. 6:1-5) We were actually created to be like God in holiness, but because of sin we’re really very much like ____________, same species with the same issue of a wicked heart that I can’t change, just lived out to a different degree. That’s (Is.6:6-7) straight up a prophecy of Jesus – Jesus doing what we cannot do, Jesus paying the price of ______________, Jesus forgiving our sins and day by day changing our heart. As you pray this, not everything God will show you is ______________. You see, as we walk with Jesus, our heart is changing, and we often don’t see it because it happens day by day, little by little.
