What should I bring?
Dates: 22 – 24 October 2018 (international students) 23 – 24 October 2018 (local students)
1. ID – Passport or driver’s license
Times: International students: Please arrive by 9.00 am on Monday 22 October 2018. Details and times for the remaining days will be provided on Monday.
3. Contact Details – Australian address (including postal code) and telephone number
2. Offer Letter – Includes your Student ID Number
International students must also bring: Local students: Please arrive by 9.00 am on Tuesday 23 October 2018. Details and times for the following day will be provided on Tuesday. What happens at Orientation?
Receive course information Unit selection and timetable (if not yet completed) Introduction to the Student Portal and computer labs Find out about a range of services and facilities Obtain your Student ID card
4. Passport and visa details – (visa issue and expiry dates required). You WILL NOT be able to enrol without these details.
What happens if I do not attend Orientation? All new international students must attend Orientation. If you are not able to attend, please contact Deakin College by calling +61 3 9244 5600 or sending an email to
[email protected]. Immigration WILL NOT ALLOW international students to arrive more than two weeks after classes have commenced.

Bus Bus 18 Deakin Direct is an express bus service that runs from the Geelong Train Station only during Deakin Trimesters into the centre of the Waurn Ponds campus. For other bus services, please refer to the Geelong Bus timetables at: cdcvictoria.com.au/timetables/geelong. Train V/Line trains operate regularly between Southern Cross Station in Melbourne, and Geelong. The campus is a 30 minute trip by car or bus from central Geelong train station. The V/Line timetable is available at ptv.vic.gov.au.
Car You can drive from Melbourne city to Geelong via the West Gate, Princes freeways & Geelong Bypass. From Melbourne Airport, you can go via the Western Ring Road and the Geelong Bypass. Daily permit parking is available at CP 3 and CP 8, or free parking is available at CP 20. Please have coins available for the parking meter. Please allow time to find a parking space and to walk to Deakin College or venue indicated.
