DECEMBER 2015 CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON PROGRAM UMW Centennial Celebration with Ruth Collins Altshuler and Lisa Stewart Monday, December 7 RSVP Deadline: Prepaid lunch reservations ($12/per 11:30am to 1:00pm person) required by either paying online by Wednesday, HPUMC Great Hall Join us for a “Christmas Luncheon and Tea” as we celebrate 100 years of women in action at HPUMC. The theme of our Centennial Celebration is “Foundation, Faith, Future”. Ruth Collins Altshuler, church member and community philanthropist, will share the history of HPUMC women in mission. Mrs. Althshuler’s history as a woman of many “firsts,” including serving as the first female chair of multiple boards such as the HPUMC Administrative Board and the boards of the Salvation Army, United Way, and SMU, uniquely qualifies her to speak on our history. Lisa Stewart, HPUMC Director of Outreach, will then share insights as to where the church is heading in the areas of community and global engagement. Come join us as we celebrate women of ALL ages in mission!

The President’s Message Dear UMW Friends, The best gifts often can’t be wrapped inside a box. How can you wrap shared laughter in a box, or the perseverance that is shown to move the task down the road? These gifts can only be wrapped and treasured in my heart. I have received so many gifts this year as president, and have been proud of this wonderful group of women and what they have accomplished! We have had such fun planning and enjoying our UMW programs, doing service projects together, and attending Circle meetings. Each member has brought her unique gifts to our tasks. Time and time again, someone has stepped up when she was needed. Thank you for a terrific 2015! Merry Christmas!

HUMAN TRAFFICKING – HOW TO STOP!
