Denver Seminary User Guide Welcome to DTL—The Digital Theological Library—Denver Seminary’s new online library with digital books and journal articles! We recommend searching DTL a few different ways. You can conduct a basic search through the home page search bar (Fig. 1). This may yield a limited number of results as not all the individual articles are indexed on the DTL website itself.

Additionally, you can conduct an advanced search by clicking “search” then “advanced search.” This allows you to select the databases and/or limit your search (Fig. 2). For example, when looking for electronic books, pick “eBook” as the format.

You can also search DTL’s numerous databases, containing books and articles, by selecting the specific database you desire. Clicking A-Z Databases provides you with a description of all the databases held by DTL (Fig. 3).

To narrow down the databases, select the subject box and choose the field of research (Fig. 4). Once the research field has been selected, a list of research databases with descriptions will be displayed (Fig. 5). Filtering the databases further by Type and Vendor/Provider may help to limit the number of database results. Finally, select the database you would like to search, taking you to the website of that database. From there, you can search that database for results.

Some databases may require you to enter your library barcode number (14 digit number, located on the back of your student/staff ID card). Depending on the database, you can refine your search results by content, publication year, scholarly/peer-reviewed, full-text, etc.
