DESCRIPTION DESMOLACK D&F is a high quality, two component D & F, polyurethane based clear floor varnish. It provides a longlasting glossy appearance and strong abrasion resistance. It has great elasticity in order to follow the contractions and expansions of the wooden floor caused by the changes in weather temperature. It is also highly durable against cleaning fluids, detergents, solvents and chemicals.

Type: Two component PU floor varnish. Mixing ratio: A/B = 1/1 Specific gravity: 1.05±0.01 gr/cm3 (ISO 2811) Application method: Roller or Brush Pot life: 4 hours (ASTM D1200, FC4/25°C) Spreading Rates: About 10m² per litre on previously prepared surfaces Thinning: Up to 3 % v/v with VIVECHROM’s THINNER E/1916 SLOW Drying times: Touch dry after 3 hours and recoatable after 12 hours. Drying time depends on weather conditions (humidity, temperature) Storage: Store between 5° το 40° C.

SURFACE PREPARATION 



The floor must be thoroughly cleaned and dried, and be prepared with VIVECHROM’s two component ASTARI DESMOLACK A&B. Before applying DESMOLACK D&F the floor must be rubed down thoroughly for better results. Treatments such as dry sanding, flame cutting and/or welding of the dry paint film will give rise to dust and/or hazardous fumes. Wet sanding/flatting should be used wherever possible. Work in well ventilated areas. Use suitable personal protection equipment.

VOC (VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS) EU limit value for this product (category Α/j): 550 g/l (2007) and 500 g/l (2010). This product (A+B mix) contains max 499 g/l VOC.

APPL ICATION      

Thin with up to 3% v/v with BRUSH SOLVENT and stir well before use. Apply 2 coats of VIVELACK in gloss or satin finish. Apply the paint and let it dry at temperatures between 10°C to 35°C. Mix equal quantities of DESMOLACK D and DESMOLACK F. Stir very well the two components and thin up to 3% v/v if necessary with VIVECHROM’s THINNER E/1916 SLOW drying. This mixture is ready for use 10 minutes later. Apply the first coat of DESMOLACK D&F and when it is completely dry, rub down using a No 180 abrasive paper and apply a second coat without thinning. Attention: The cans must be airtight, particularly those of component DESMOLACK D, because its content is destroyed by the humidity and air. The mixture DESMOLACK D&F must be used within 3-4 hours. In the summer months, add to the mixture the special VIVECHROM’s THINNER E/1408 in the proportion of maximum 3% v/v in order to have better levelling and to avoid bubbles.

AFTER USE – WASTE MAN AGEMEN T Clean brushes and equipment with VIVECHROM's ACETON immediately after use.
