Discipleship Intern Job Description

The Discipleship Ministry Team is requesting 1 internship role. Typically, we have had two interns with one dedicated to LifeCare ministry. However, we would like to explore LifeCare as being a component for some/all of the 2019 intern class. The rationale behind this is due to the unknown and sporadic nature of responding to care/crisis needs. Position Description The Discipleship Internship is a 40 hr per week role designed to provide a comprehensive, local-church discipleship experience for a qualified intern candidate. The responsibilities for the role are as follows: Weekend Worship • Assist in the communication/scheduling of Connections volunteers. • Serve on the various Connections teams throughout the weekends. Guest Follow Up • Assist in the personal follow-up with weekend guests. o Make phone calls o Write handwritten thank you cards Starting Point • Observe and participate in our monthly event provided for helping people find a place of connection at Fellowship Rooted • Participate in and/or potentially facilitate a Rooted group. • Assist in the planning of Rooted gatherings and facilitator trainings. Small Groups • Assist in the planning/writing of Fall 2019 small group curriculum content. • Participate in the Small Group Coach Retreat. • Observe and potentially lead Small Group Leader Trainings. • Make weekly connections with current small group leaders and/or coaches. Men’s Ministry • Assist in planning ministry events. Women’s Ministry • Assist in planning ministry events. Pastoral Ministry • Observe counseling sessions. • Participate in wedding and/or funeral ceremony planning (as needed). • Make hospital and/or home visits (as needed).
