Through the birth of Christ, God filled the void in us of wanting to be loved and known. The same God who created the universe, healed the sick, and raised the dead to life wants to be an everlasting father to each of us. There’s no other person who can heal your wounds, forgive your sins, save your soul, calm your fears, and make you whole.

Discussion Questions 1. If you were guaranteed a perfect Christmas, what would it look like? 2. What’s the last time that you experienced uncertainty or fear? Who or what did you turn to in the midst of that fear? 3. Read Romans 5:8. What imperfections or hurts are you bringing to the table this Christmas? God chose to save us while we were still sinners—so we don’t need to run from Him or feel embarrassed that we aren’t perfect. What’s holding you back from fully surrendering those sins and burdens to God? 4. Read Isaiah 9:2-7. What parts of this passage stand out to you the most? When you look at the attributes prophesied about Jesus in verse 6, which one do you feel especially grateful for today? Why?

Challenge Read the account of the birth of Christ in Luke 2:1-20 and Matthew 1:18–2:12, noticing both all of the imperfections and the promises fulfilled. Come up with 1-2 ways to make sure Christ remains the center of your Christmas celebrations this year.
