Sept. 2/3 Seeds and Soils John Alexander

The seeds in the parable of the sower represents the truth and promises of God. God fills people’s lives with seeds, and they either grow in a person’s heart or don’t. But it’s our job to keep planting seeds; it’s God’s job to change their heart.

Discussion Questions 1. When have you felt like you were stuck in a season of life that would never end? Share about that experience. 2. Read Mark 4:1-20. What do the four different types of seeds represent in this parable? Which one best represents you or someone else in your life right now? 3. Some of the best ways to sow seeds are to pray for people, model your faith, and invite people to church. Which one of these do you do well, and what do you need to work on? What will help you do all three of these things well? 4. Read Romans 10:14. When was the last time you sowed a seed of God’s truth in someone’s life? What is holding you back from generously scattering seeds?

Challenge Who in your life can you begin or continue to sow seeds with? Commit to praying for them this week. Then, invite that person to come to church with you to our new message series, Made for More, starting Sept. 9/10.
