Sept. 30 / Oct. 1 It’s the Who That Matters Jason Strand

We are created for relationships—both with God and with others. But we can have hundreds of friends on social media, yet have no one to talk to if we’re going through a tough time. That’s why it’s so important to invest in relationships that are filling you up rather than leaving you empty.

Discussion Questions 1. Are you the type of person to go it alone, or do you like to include others in life’s activities? How would you rate the quality of your friendships? 2. Read Ecclesiastes 4:9-12. Share a time when someone brought you comfort and help during a challenging period in life. Who have you helped recently when they’ve been in a tough circumstance? 3. Read Proverbs 13:20. If we associate with wise people, we become wise. Hang out with the fool and we can find ourselves in trouble. When has a friend brought you down or caused trouble? Who in your life lifts you up and challenges you to be better? 4. Where are you turning to find love, purpose, joy, or contentment? Is it working, or is it leaving you feeling lost and lonely?

Challenge Spend time this week evaluating the relationships in your life. Who do you need to invest in more? Do any relationship need to be pruned? Take time to invest in the most important relationship in your life—your relationship with Jesus.

Commit to Memory Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
