Introduction As we go through our day-to-day life, it can be easy to overlook the blessings that God has lavished upon us. During his message, Bob talked about Ephesians 1:3 where Paul writes, “Praise be to God who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” This verse tells us that God hasn’t withheld any blessing from us, but rather has given us every spiritual blessing in Christ. As you discuss the questions below, be sure to talk about how you can become more aware of all that God has provided to those of you who are in Christ.

Discussion Questions 1. Talk about a time when you were fully aware of God’s spiritual blessings in your life. What was that like? 2. The first word Bob talked about was “adopted.” What does it mean to you that you are adopted by God? What are some of your thoughts or feelings when you hear that if you are in Christ you’ve been adopted by God? 3. What keeps you from feeling forgiven in your life? Look back on Ephesians 1:7. In this verse, we know that if we are in Christ, we are fully forgiven, but sometimes it is hard to feel it. Read 1 John 1:9. What does this verse say will help us to feel God’s forgiveness each day? Talk about how the act of confession plays out in your life.

Think about it

4. Another word Bob talked about was “freedom.” Once we enter into Christ’s family through placing our faith in him, we no longer have to be enslaved by our past sins. While God has forgiven us, read what Galatians 5:13 says about how we are to use this gift of freedom in our lives. In what ways do you currently serve others? 5. The next word was “grace.” In what ways have you seen and experienced God’s grace in the past week? Where would you like to feel God’s grace more in your life? 6. The final word was “sealed.” How does it feel to know that you are sealed, or labeled, as God’s through the Holy Spirit?

Bob said, “These are spiritual blessings that are true about every believer.” How can you live out your days more aware of these blessings?
