iConnect: Do Good to One Another September28, 2014

Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. Galatians 6. 9-10

Connection Group Questions Taken from the sermon on September 28, 2014

!

I-Connect: Do Good to One Another- Galatians 6:9-10

• Ice Breaker: When is a time when you were embarrassed by a rebuke from an authority figure? Did you feel that you “deserved” it? Was it delivered in love?

!

Questions for “GROUP DISCUSSION” If “doing good” equates to living “a Spirit-dominated life,” then how can you creatively teach your family “the fruit of the Spirit,” which is “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control” (Gal. 5:22-23)?

!

How does salvation “through faith in Christ Jesus” alone (Gal. 2:16) relate to followers of Jesus “doing good” (Gal. 6:9)?

!

In what ways can you, as a Connection Group, live out the command to “do good to all people” (Gal. 6:10)? Does a particular person, age group, or organization come to mind?

!

What is the significance of doing good “especially to those who are of the household of the faith” (Gal. 6:10)?

Questions for “PERSONAL GROWTH” Monday- To understand God’s command to “do good”, we should examine the proceeding instructions in Galatians 6:1-10. What could be called “the sin trap”? What does “caught in any trespass” mean?

!

Tuesday –What type of person should “restore” others (Gal. 1.1)? Who often acts as “judge and jury” within the church? When you see sin in others, do you become aware of your own sin? Does being a sinner disqualify you from being “spiritual”? From Jesus teaching in Matthew 18:15-17, how might you “gently” restore another?

!

Wednesday- What particular sin has a tendency to trap you? What does Galatians 5:16-17 teach us about putting sin to death?

!

Thursday- What does “bearing one another’s burden” require of you? What does it look like in everyday life, and how does it apply to the “law of Christ”(Gal. 6:2)? What is Paul’s warning in Galatians 6:3-5? Why is carrying your own burdens important?

!

Friday- How can restored sinners be a blessing in return? What is a motivation for us to “do good” (see Gal. 6:7-10)? Are we guaranteed a reward for “doing good” and loving others while we on this earth? What are we guaranteed? From your study of Galatians 6, do you feel you are more “critical” than “spiritual”? Ask the Holy Spirit to influence you to mature into a more spiritual, and less critical, approach to others, and how He, specifically, wants you to “do good” to others.
