CHICKASAW NATION AVIATION & SPACE ACADEMY (CNASA) is a weeklong academy for Chickasaw students interested in space, aviation, math and science. Academy dates and other information can be obtained by calling the number above. For required forms and program information, visit Chickasaw.net/STM. Deadline to apply is April 15. The CNASA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM provides Chickasaw students across the country with an opportunity to participate in the Chickasaw Nation Aviation & Space Academy. Interested students must submit a scholarship application and a CNASA application, which contains competitive criteria applicants must meet. A committee will evaluate and rank completed applications to determine scholarship recipients. CNASA scholarships will cover the cost of round‑trip airfare or mileage, lodging and meals. SPACE CAMP is a weeklong premier educational program for Chickasaw students, ages 9‑18, located at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center at NASA’s Marshall Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. A limited number of students are selected each year. Interested students must submit an application, which contains competitive criteria applicants must meet. A committee will evaluate and rank completed applications to determine recipients. Camp dates and additional information can be obtained by calling the number above. The YOUTH CLOTHING GRANT provides students with a $200 non‑reloadable Visa gift card each school year. Students must apply each school year. The grant must be used for school clothing purchases only. The COLLEGE CLOTHING GRANT provides a non‑reloadable $150 Visa gift card for part‑time students or $300 for full‑time students, per classification. The grant must be used for clothing purchases only. BURIAL SUPPLEMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The burial supplement assistance program is for Chickasaw citizens, regardless of age or place of residence. The Chickasaw Nation will pay up to $2,500, directly to the funeral home, toward the final balance of a Chickasaw citizen's burial expenses. The gym is built to accommodate a variety of ages, with goals that adjust from eight to 10 feet. Open gym times will be available for shoot arounds and pick‑up games. The Chickasaw Choir program provides opportunities for children, youth and adults to sing at community events. The choir program focuses on developing musical skills, stage presence and movement. Actors create interesting, informative and entertaining productions based on the original plays and vignettes which offer insight into the Chickasaw Nation’s rich culture and history. This annual creative writing contest is for Chickasaw citizens in grades six‑12 and young adults through age 24. The 72‑HOUR PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION provides photographers an opportunity to participate in the three‑category competition. Photographers are given a one word theme and have 72 hours to take photos and submit their unedited interpretation of the given theme. The CHICKASAW CHOIR program provides opportunities for children, youth and adults to sing in a community setting and to develop musical skills, stage presence and movement, thereby encouraging confidence and improved self‑esteem. Open to students age 8 and older. The CHOKMA'SI GALLERY hosts and facilitates art exhibits and competitions. The gallery also features a retail space with Native American art, jewelry, pottery, prints and more for sale. DIGITAL STORYTELLING is the practice of combining narrative with digital content, including images, sound and video, to create a short movie, typically within a strong emotional component. This program seeks traditional stories or stories about the old ways. Both youth and adults can participate. The IMANOLI WRITER’S CONFERENCE is designed for writers looking to enhance their writing skills. Professionals from diverse fields of writing share their knowledge about the different aspects of the writing process, writing styles and publishing. Conference is free and open to the public. The conference takes place on the first Thursday in June. The MUSICAL TOUR offers a tour to various locations within the Chickasaw Nation boundaries of the season’s musical. Once per year, a large‑scale musical will be produced and performed at predetermined venues. The Chickasaw Nation Career Technology Program is available to part‑time and full‑time Chickasaw students attending a state or nationally accredited career technology center, online education institute, trade school or private training facility, whereby graduates receive a professional certification or license upon completion of their program. CAREER TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM (CTP) GRANT shall be based on the student’s program’s tuition and fee costs, with $6,000 being the maximum award amount per certification. An invoice or billing statement must be submitted to process any award amount. The student’s federal and/ or state financial aid award will be taken into consideration when processing the CTP Grant award amount. All students must submit a high school transcript, high school equivalency or college transcript. Eligibility is not dependent on completion or grade point average. Application must be made before the student’s course completion date to be eligible. EXAM AND LICENSURE ASSISTANCE GRANT provides assistance for required textbooks and supplies as determined by the student’s program. The textbook and supplies assistance grant is available once per certification. Part‑time and high school students may qualify for $250. Full‑time students may qualify for $500. CERTIFICATION COMPLETION INCENTIVE is limited to one completion incentive per certification. Students must provide a final transcript, diploma or licensure showing certification has been awarded within six months after the course completion date. Certification completion incentive awards are based strictly on training clock hours and will be awarded as follows: 99 hours or less is $50; 100–250 hours is $100; 251–500 hours is $200; 501–750 hours is $300; and 751 hours or more is $400. Storytelling can be integrated into the standard Oklahoma academic curriculum. The IMATAHLI PROGRAM (Preparing Someone) assists middle and high school Chickasaw students in Norman Public Schools with college and career preparedness. Education coordinators provide educational resources and refer to other agencies that help with academic success. Students are encouraged to explore college and technical career opportunities. They are supported to stay on track academically and are offered activities to strengthen their connection to the Chickasaw culture. Imatahli identifies and monitors students who are eligible for Oklahoma's Promise. The program also provides funding and financial information to students and assists them with the application process. The RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION PROGRAM aids Chickasaw students who attend the University of Oklahoma, University of Central Oklahoma or Oklahoma City Community College. The program is designed to meet the academic needs of students by assisting in the development of their academic skills, identifying campus and tribal resources, creating networks of support on and off campus and building a stronger connection to their Chickasaw culture. The program assists students with the completion of their certificates, associate or bachelor's degrees in a timely manner. ADULT ART CLASSES provide an introduction to various mediums and subject matter. Enrollment is open to community members, with classes in Ada at the arts and humanities building, and in Sulphur at the ARTesian Gallery & Studios. The CHICKASAW YOUNG ARTISTS STUDIO (CYAS) assists students, grades seven‑12, with art portfolios, contest preparation, one‑on‑one studio time with an instructor and provides general mentoring of Chickasaw young artists throughout the year. Chickasaw citizens pursuing higher education from accredited institutions are eligible to receive various grants and scholarships to assist with the cost of tuition, books and fees. A GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP is available to Chickasaw students who take three or more credit hours each term and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. Awards are based on enrollment and classification, and an incentive is available based on GPA. The GOVERNOR’S, LT. GOVERNOR’S & LEGISLATOR’S SCHOLARSHIPS are awarded one‑time only for graduating high school seniors who have achieved a high level of academic success. In order to be eligible for these scholarships, a student must have earned a 3.85 GPA or higher or have been selected class valedictorian or salutatorian. A HIGHER EDUCATION GRANT may be awarded to undergraduate, graduate or doctoral students who maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher each semester. An INTER‑TRIBAL COUNCIL OF THE FIVE CIVILIZED TRIBES JOHNSON-O'MALLEY SCHOLARSHIP is awarded each year to one male and one female graduating high school senior. In order to be eligible for this one‑time only scholarship, students must be attending a school with a JOM program within the Chickasaw Nation boundaries. A TEXTBOOK GRANT may be awarded to undergraduate, graduate or doctoral students enrolled in at least three college credit hours, who maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher each term. Students enrolled in three‑11 hours may be awarded $150 per term, and students enrolled in 12+ hours may be awarded $300 per term. Textbook reimbursement deadlines: • Summer term deadline is July 1. • Spring term deadline is March 15. • Fall term deadline is October 15. CHIKASHA HOLITOPLICHI (Honors Program): Rewarding continuing education and academic success, this program is available for college students beginning their sophomore year through professional school. As a student progresses through college and completes a classification with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, he or she is eligible to receive $500 per incentive. Qualifying students may be reimbursed up to $150 for caps, gowns, invitations and other graduation‑related expenses. The program provides up to $2,500 a month for Chickasaw elders to live in a state licensed assisted‑living facility. The benefit is paid directly to the facility and is based on a client’s need. Required application is available at the above address. All applicants will be assessed to determine medical and financial eligibility. If approved for the program, the applicant will be notified.

The Chickasaw Elder Independent Living Apartments (CEILA) program provides eight, one‑bedroom apartments to be leased to low‑income, Native American elders (60 and older) and their spouses, with Chickasaw preference exercised. The apartments are located at Chickasaw Nation Ardmore Campus.

This nationwide program is offered as a token of appreciation and recognition for Chickasaw elder veterans, 60 years of age or older, for their military service. Participants are selected by year(s) served. Those who served first, will be selected first for an all‑expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. The Chickasaw Nation Aging Division staff accompanies the selected veterans. The trip’s itinerary includes tours of all the major war monuments, Smithsonian Museum tours, a visit to Arlington National Cemetery, a tour of the United States Capitol and many other fun and exciting activities.

The Chickasaw Senior Golf Academy is for Chickasaw senior citizens designed to improve the play of intermediate and advanced players. Participants are taught putting techniques, driver techniques, chip shots, short game and full swings. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from professional instructors at the WinStar Golf Course. While promoting an active lifestyle, the Chickasaw Senior Golf Academy gives seniors the opportunity to enjoy golf and connect with other golfers.

ELDERLY ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM Contact any area office (see pages 7, 53).

This program provides one‑time assistance for winter heating and one‑time assistance for summer cooling. Utilities covered may include propane, gas, water, electricity or deposits.

This program provides specific over‑the‑counter (OTC) medications at no cost for Chickasaw elders. The medications are available by mail and can be mailed to the Chickasaw elder. OTC medications available are: non‑asprin, cough syrup, liquid antacid, magnesium, vitamin e, vitamin c, calcium, tears, stool softener, fiber laxative, multi‑vitamin and fish oil. Requests may be submitted in writing or via telephone at the number above.

The Chikasha House provides families or caregivers of patients admitted to the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center (CNMC) a convenient and relaxing “home away from home” lodging facility. There are two guest houses, each one containing four guest rooms. One guest room in each house is also handicap accessible. All rooms contain two full‑sized beds, a TV, refrigerator and private bathroom. In addition, both houses include a common kitchen and living area. Also available on site is a game room and outdoor playground, two serenity gardens, laundry facilities, a safe room and a state‑of‑the‑art security and surveillance system. • Signed referral by an authorized CNMC representative is required. • Guests must reside outside the immediate Ada area. • Accommodations are provided on a first come, first served basis.
