CIRCLE | Let’s Draw God wants to hear from us (Luke 11:1-13). He wants us to pray bold, Spiritled prayers, to draw or pray circles around our greatest dreams, fears, or needs. In fact, it honors God when we do so. But the reality is that most people struggle to pray. Even the first disciples of Jesus said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray…” Because God is our Heavenly Father, He gives good gifts to those who ask Him (Luke 11:11-13). His heart is to respond when we cry out to Him. GET THINGS STARTED While most followers of Jesus would affirm that prayer is important and is a significant part of the Christian life, many struggle to truly engage in prayer. What do you think makes prayer such a struggle? Why is it easier to talk about prayer than to actually pray? WATCH THE LIFE GROUP VIDEO FOR WEEK 1 GO DEEPER 1. Which part of the video resonated with you? Which struggle do you identify with the most? 2. Throughout Scripture God calls His people to a place of bold, Spirit-led prayers. What truths consistently emerge in Jeremiah 33:3, John 14:12-14, Matthew 7:7-8, and James 5:16-18? 3. When the disciples ask Jesus to teach them how to pray in Luke 11:1, He responds, “When you pray, say: Father…” According to Luke 11:11-13, why is referring to God as Father so important when we pray? MAKE IT PERSONAL 1. What do you need to pray circles around in your life right now? 2. Do you believe God can bring hope and breakthrough in that area? What gives you confidence (or doubt) in God, if you were to pray to Him? PRACTICE IT NOW Take time to purposefully pray for one another and for those areas you need God to work in right now. Ask Him for an increased willingness to pray bold, Spirit-led prayers. Ask God to increase your trust in Him that He, as our Heavenly Father, is a giver of good gifts to those who ask Him.
