Sermon Notes

We welcome those who may be at First Baptist for the irst time. We trust that you will ind us friendly. More importantly, we pray that God would use this worship time to draw you closer to Him. We would also encourage you to try one of our small-group Sunday School classes. You can ind information about these classes and lots of other news about First Baptist at our Information Center.

This Tuesday night is the irst night of our FAITH Evangelism Training Fall Semester. You still have time to get involved in this training. Every believer ought to be trained in sharing his or her faith in Jesus Christ. If you have never participated in some kind of evangelism training, I pray that you will think about joining us. If you have already been trained, please consider putting that training into practice for this semester of FAITH.

First Look is this afternoon from 3:45 p.m.-5:45 p.m. First Look is our two-hour seminar especially designed for new members and those interested in becoming members. If you have recently joined or would consider joining our church, please come this afternoon. We will be meeting in Assembly Room 2, which is located on the second loor of the main building.

Where are you going to be next Sunday morning? Please remember our annual ONE DAY joint worship celebration next Sunday, September 2 at 10:00 a.m. I want to urge everyone, even though this will be Labor Day weekend, to give maximum effort to join us for this special worship gathering.

What about the Giant within Us? 2 Samuel 11-12

The biggest giant of all is the one inside of us!

Some Truths about the Giant Inside of Us: At the root of all sin is ________________________________. At the root of all sin is a ______________________________. The result of all sin is _________________________________.

Declaring War on the Giant within Us: Refuse to _________________________ sin. Respond immediately and completely to _________________________. Realize the necessity of _________________________________. Recognize that sin has ___________________________. Receive ___________________________________. Remember that in Christ you have all you need to _____________ the giant.
