"The Christian's life is not a modification or improvement of the old, but a transformation of nature. There is a death to self and sin, and a new life altogether.” The Desire of Ages, page 172. The new birth is as real as is the natural birth. It is recognized both by the individual and by those who know him. Let us study how we can be born again.

A New Man 1. Are any too sinful to come to Yahuwah? "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am El, and there is none else." Isaiah 45:22. '''This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Anointed Yahushua came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." I Timothy I: 15. In fact, He says; . "Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." Revelation 22:17. Answer: No, He can fully save the worst sinner. He will send none away as being too vile. Yahushua came to seek the lost, to help the weak, to reach the lowest man. "Him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out" (John 6:37). Remember the man with the palsy. His friends let him down through a roof and placed him right in front of Yahushua who said, "Son, be of good cheer: thy sins be forgiven thee" (Matthew 9:2). And He healed him of the physical and spiritual disease that afflicted him (Matthew 9:6-8). 2. What question did a certain jailer ask Paul and Silas and what was their answer? "What must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Master Yahushua, the Anointed, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:30-31 To obtain pardon for sin, the following simple steps must be taken: A. Look to Yahuwah. "Look unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am El, and there is none else" Isaiah 45:22. B. Believe on Yahushua, the Anointed. "Believe on the Master Yahushua, the Anointed, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:31. C. Repent of every sin."Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." Luke 13:3.

"Repent ye therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of Yahuwah." Acts 3:19. D. Confess every sin known to you. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9. E. Make things right with your brother. "If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live." Ezekiel 33:15-16. 3. Can man save himself from the guilt and power of sin? "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of Yahuwah: not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8, 9. "By the deeds of the law, there shall no flesh be justified in His sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.” Romans 3:20. "I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do." Romans 7:18-19. Answer: Man is unable to atone for the sins of the past. 4. When a sinner is impressed by the Holy Spirit to forsake his sins, what are the steps he should take? "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to Yahuwah must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Hebrews 11:6. "I believe that thou art the Anointed, the Son of Yahuwah, which should come into the world." John 11:27. Answer: To obtain victory over the power of sin, man has an important part he must play. Notice the following steps carefully and pray that Yahuwah will give you grace to move forward. Here are the steps: A. Be willing to forsake every sin. "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." Proverbs 28:13. B. Let the Holy Spirit lead you. "As many as are led by the Spirit of Yahuwah, they are the sons of Eloah." Romans 8:14. C. Be willing to obey Yahuwah's law. "He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination." Proverbs 28:9. "Let not sin (law breaking, 1 John 3:4) therefore reign in your mortal body that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof" (Romans 6:12).

D. Be willing to witness for Yahuwah. "Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8. E. Keep your eyes fixed on Yahushua. "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Yahushua the author and finisher of our faith." Hebrews 12:1-2. 5. What takes place in the life of a sinner when he confesses his sins to Yahuwah, accepts Yahushua as his Saviour, and believes that his sins are forgiven? "Therefore if any man be in the Anointed, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2Corinthians 5:17. Answer: He is converted. This means that his life is changed. He no longer renders allegiance to Satan and sin, but now counts himself a child of Yahuwah. He has been transformed. The process of sin was reversed when Yahuwah created a "new creature" in the Master Yahushua (2 Corinthians 5:17). Not only does He recreate the sinner, but He has made other wonderful provisions for all who believe. A. He gives repentance for our sins (Acts 5:31). B. He sends His Spirit to dwell in our hearts (1John 3:24). C. He provides the Bible to comfort, strengthen, and keep us (Romans 15:4; Psalm 119:105; Ephesians 6:17). D. He opens heaven to our prayers (Hebrews 4:16). "He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" Romans 8:32. 6. What is this transformation called? It is called the new birth. Yahushua said to Nicodemus, "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of Yahuwah." John 3:3. See 1 Peter 1:23. Answer: Through this new-birth experience, Yahuwah gives the power of a new life. Says John, we "were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of Yahuwah" (John 1:13 ). To be born again means that Yahuwah fulfills His law in us. As Paul tells us, "What the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, Yahuwah sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." Romans 8:3.

A Heart Of Flesh 7. What are converted persons said to be?

"Newborn babes." 1 Peter 2:2. "And that ye put on the new man, which after Yahuwah is created in righteousness and true holiness." Ephesians 4:24. See Colossians 3:10. 8. What change takes place in the heart at conversion? "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." Ezekiel 36:26. David prayed, "Create in me a clean heart, 0 Elohim; and renew a right spirit within me." Psalm 51:10. 9. What does Yahuwah promise to write upon the new heart? "I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them Eloah, and they shall be My people." Hebrews 8:10. 10. What change is noticeable in the converted individual? Instead of the works of sin and the flesh, the fruits of the Spirit now appear. These are love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, and faith. See Galatians 5:22-24. The whole life has been transformed. 11. What does the heart of the Christian become? "What agreement hath the temple of Yahuwah with idols? For ye are the temple of the living Eloah; as Yahuwah hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their Eloah, and they shall be My people." 2 Corinthians 6:16. 12. How does Yahushua dwell in men's hearts? "That the Anointed may dwell in your hearts by faith." Ephesians 3:17. Answer: Yahushua dwells in our heart by faith. 13. When Yahushua is fully in control of the new life, how complete will be the victory over sin? Every thought will be brought into captivity to the obedience of Yahushua. See 2 Corinthians 10:4, 5; Hebrews 13:20, 21. 14. What must all of Yahushua's children do by the indwelling of His grace? To obey all the commandments of Yahuwah. Yahushua said that new converts were to be taught "to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you." Matthew 28:20. 15. What will be the reward of those who faithfully serve Yahushua?

"Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world." Matthew 25:34. “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." Revelation 22:14. 16. In what will they find joy in the New Earth? "But be ye glad and rejoice forever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy .... And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them .... Mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands." Isaiah 65:18-22. “Human language is inadequate to describe the reward of the righteous. It will be known only to those who behold it. No finite mind can comprehend the glory of the Paradise of [Yahuwah]. . . . . In the City of [Yahuwah] 'there shall be no night.' None will need or desire repose. There will be no weariness in doing the will of [Yahuwah] and offering praise to His name. We shall ever feel the freshness of the morning and shall ever be far from its close.” The Great Controversy, pages 674, 676. Is it your desire to be born again? Will you spend time with Yahushua every day in prayer and Bible study, and with the strength you thus receive from Him choose to resist sin and to follow the the Master Yahushua, the Anointed?

Those who were waiting to make themselves more worthy of divine favor before they ventured to claim the promises of Yahuwah, were making a fatal mistake. Yahushua alone cleanses from sin; He only can forgive our transgressions. He has pledged Himself to listen to the petition and grant the prayer of those who come to Him in faith. Many have a vague idea that they must make some effort in order to gain the favor of Yahuwah. But all self-dependence is vain. It is only by connecting with Yahushua through faith that the sinner becomes a hopeful, believing child of Yahuwah. The righteousness by which we are justified is imputed; the righteousness by which we are sanctified is imparted. The first is our title to heaven, the second is our fitness for heaven.

The Righteousness Of Yahuwah 1. What is meant by the Bible doctrine of justification? Answer: To justify means to absolve or declare one innocent who has been guilty. It is a gracious act of Yahuwah whereby, after He pardons and accepts a sinner, He imputes to him His own righteousness and declares before the universe that the sinner is guiltless. 2. How many may be justified? "And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.” Acts 13:39. Answer: Everyone who believes in Yahushua as his Saviour and is willing to accept His righteousness. 3. How many have sinned? "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of Yahuwah." Romans 3:23. NOTE: "By sin we have been severed from the life of [Yahuwah]. Our souls are palsied. Of ourselves, we are no more capable of living a holy life than was the impotent man capable of walking. There are many who realize their helplessness, and who long for that spiritual life which will bring them into harmony with [Yahuwah]; they are vainly striving to obtain it. In despair they cry, ‘O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from this body of death?’ Romans 7:24, margin. Let these desponding, struggling ones look up. The Saviour is bending over the purchase of His blood, saying with inexpressible tenderness and pity, ‘Wilt thou be made whole?’ He bids you arise in health and peace. Do not wait to feel that you are made whole. Believe His word, and it will be fulfilled. Put your will on the side of [Yahushua]. Will to serve Him, and in acting upon His word you will receive strength. Whatever may be the evil practice, the master passion which through long indulgence binds both soul and body, [Yahushua] is able and longs to deliver. He will impart life to the soul that is ‘dead in trespasses.’ Ephesians 2:1. He will set free the captive that is held by weakness and misfortune and the chains of sin." The Desire of Ages, page 203.

4. Whose righteousness has been provided as a substitute for men's sins? "Therefore as by the offence of one [Adam], judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one [Yahushua] the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's [Adam's] disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one [Yahushua] shall many be made righteous." Romans 5: 18,19. Answer: Righteousness of Yahushua, the Anointed. NOTE: “Satan represents [Yahuwah's] law of love as a law of selfishness. He declares that it is impossible for us to obey its precepts. The fall of our first parents, with all the woe that has resulted, he charges upon the Creator, leading men to look upon [Yahuwah] as the author of sin, and suffering, and death. [Yahushua] was to unveil this deception. As one of us He was to give an example of obedience. For this He took upon Himself our nature, and passed through our experiences. "In all things it behooved Him to be made like unto His brethren." Heb. 2:17. If we had to bear anything which [Yahushua] did not endure, then upon this point Satan would represent the power of [Yahuwah] as insufficient for us. Therefore [Yahushua] was "in all points tempted like as we are." Heb. 4:15. He endured every trial to which we are subject. And He exercised in His own behalf no power that is not freely offered to us. As man, He met temptation, and overcame in the strength given Him from [Yahuwah]. He says, "I delight to do Thy will, O My [Eloah]: yea, Thy law is within My heart." Ps. 40:8. As He went about doing good, and healing all who were afflicted by Satan, He made plain to men the character of [Yahuwah's] law and the nature of His service. His life testifies that it is possible for us also to obey the law of [Yahuwah]. "[Yahushua] accepted humanity when the race had been weakened by four thousand years of sin. Like every child of Adam He accepted the results of the working of the great law of heredity. What these results were is shown in the history of His earthly ancestors. He came with such a heredity to share our sorrows and temptations, and to give us the example of a sinless life." The Desire of Ages, page 24, 49.

Justified Freely 5. How do men receive Yahushua's righteousness? "And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Yahushua, the Anointed." Romans 5:16, 17. Answer: It is a gift from Yahuwah to repentant sinners. 6. What earnest question is asked by Bildad, one of Job's companions? "How then can man be justified with El? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?" Job 25:4. 7. What is the answer to Bildad's question?

"Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in the Anointed, Yahushua." Romans 3:24. Answer: Yahushua's righteousness is declared to be ours. He lived for us. Paul says, "We shall be saved by his life." Romans 5:10. 8. How does one receive this justification from Yahuwah? "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith." Romans 3:28. Answer: It is by faith. The sinner must ask for pardon and cleansing; he must ask for purity and righteousness, but he must also believe that Yahuwah grants his request. 9. What concrete example makes clear the meaning of this doctrine? "And he brought him [Abraham] forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in Yahuwah; and he counted it to him for righteousness." Genesis 15:5, 6. 10. What does Yahuwah do with the sins of those whom He pardons and justifies? Answer: A. He casts them into the depths of the sea. "He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea." Micah 7:19. B. He casts them behind His back (Isaiah 38:17) and remembers them against us no more forever. “for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” Jeremiah 31:34. C. He blots them out as a thick cloud. "I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee." Isaiah 44:22. D. He takes them away. In place of former sins, He now substitutes His own righteousness.

Overcomers 11. What does Yahuwah promise those who are clothed with the righteousness of Yahushua? "They shall walk with me in white; for they are worthy. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels." Revelation 3:4, 5.

12. What does Yahuwah declare concerning those whom He has justified? "Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If Yahuwah be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of Yahuwah's elect? It is Yahuwah that justifieth." Romans 8:30-33. 13. When individuals are justified from their past sins, how should they then live? "Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him." Hebrews 10:38. NOTE: "You gave yourself to [Yahuwah], to be His wholly, to serve and obey Him; and You took [Yahushua] as your Saviour. You could not yourself atone for your sins or change your heart; but having given yourself to [Yahuwah], you believed that He, for [Yahushua's] sake, did all this for you. By faith you became [Yahushua's], and by faith you are to grow up in Him, - by giving and taking. You are to give all - your heart, your will, your service, - give yourself to Him to obey all His requirements. You must take all [Yahushua], the fullness of all blessing to abide in your heart, to be your strength, your righteousness, your everlasting helper, - to give you power to obey" Steps to Christ, pages 69-70. 14. Yahuwah’s Law Written On The Heart 16. What is Yahuwah's goal for those whose sins He has forgiven? "That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us." Romans 8:4. NOTE: “Wesley declared the perfect harmony of the law and the gospel. 'There is, therefore, the closest connection that can be conceived, between the law and the gospel. On the one hand, the law continually makes way for, and points us to, the gospel; on the other, the gospel continually leads us to a more exact fulfilling of the law. The law, for instance, requires us to love [Yahuwah], to love our neighbor, to be meek, humble, or holy. We feel that we are not sufficient for these things; yea, that 'with man this is impossible;' but we see a promise of [Yahuwah] to give us that love, and to make us humble, meek, and holy: we lay hold of

this gospel, of these glad tidings; it is done unto us according to our faith; and 'the righteousness of the law is fulfilled in us,' through faith which is in [the Anointed, Yahushua]. . . . "'In the highest rank of the enemies of the gospel of [Yahushua],' said Wesley, 'are they who openly and explicitly 'judge the law' itself, and 'speak evil of the law;' who teach men to break (to dissolve, to loose, to untie the obligation of) not one only, whether of the least or of the greatest, but all the commandments at a stroke. . . . The most surprising of all the circumstances that attend this strong delusion, is that they who are given up to it, really believe that they honor [Yahushua] by overthrowing His law, and that they are magnifying His office while they are destroying His doctrine! Yea, they honor Him just as Judas did when he said, 'Hail, Master, and kissed Him.' And He may as justly say to every one of them, 'Betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?' It is no other than betraying Him with a kiss, to talk of His blood, and take away His crown; to set light by any part of His law, under pretense of advancing His gospel. Nor indeed can anyone escape this charge, who preaches faith in any such a manner as either directly or indirectly tends to set aside any branch of obedience: who preaches [Yahushua] so as to disannul, or weaken in any wise, the least of the commandments of [Yahuwah].' "To those who urged that 'the preaching of the gospel answers all the ends of the law,' Wesley replied: 'This we utterly deny. It does not answer the very first end of the law, namely, the convincing men of sin, the awakening those who are still asleep on the brink of hell." The apostle Paul declares that "by the law is the knowledge of sin;' 'and not until man is convicted of sin, will he truly feel his need of the atoning blood of [Yahushua]. . . . 'They that be whole,' as our [Master] Himself observes, 'need not a physician, but they that are sick.' It is absurd, therefore, to offer a physician to them that are whole, or that at least imagine themselves so to be. You are first to convince them that they are sick; otherwise they will not thank you for your labor. It is equally absurd to offer [Yahushua] to them whose heart is whole, having never yet been broken.' " The Great Controversy, page 263-264. 17. What will be the attitude of truly converted persons to all of Yahuwah's Ten-Commandment law (especially the fourth)? "O how love I thy law! It is my meditation all the day." Psalm 119:97. NOTE: “Is he now free to transgress [Yahuwah's] law? Says Paul: 'Do we then make void the law through faith? [Yahuwah] forbid: yea, we establish the law.' 'How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?' And John declares: 'This is the love of [Yahuwah], that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous.' Romans 3:31; 6:2; 1 John 5:3. In the new birth the heart is brought into harmony with [Yahuwah], as it is brought into accord with His law. When this mighty change has taken place in the sinner, he has passed from death unto life, from sin unto holiness, from transgression and rebellion to obedience and loyalty. The old life of alienation from [Yahuwah] has ended; the new life of reconciliation, of faith and love, has begun. Then 'the righteousness of the law' will 'be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.' Romans 8:4. And the language of the soul will be: 'O how love I Thy law! it is my meditation all the day.' Psalm 119:97.” The Great Controversy, page 468.

Yahushua In You

18. Since human beings are too weak to keep Yahuwah's law, what plan has Yahuwah made by which to give them strength? "That the Anointed may dwell in your hearts by faith." Ephesians 3:17. 19. When Yahushua dwells in the heart, what change is produced? "That ye might walk worthy of the Master unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of Yahuwah; strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power." Colossians 1:10, 11. "I can do all things through the Anointed which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13. 20. When Yahushua controls the life, what can He do through His children? "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us." Ephesians 3:20. "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." Galatians 5:16. Answer: He can perform His will in and through them. 21. How completely can Yahushua make the surrendered life conform to His will? "Now the Eloah of peace, that brought again from the dead our Master Yahushua ... make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Yahushua, the Anointed." Hebrews 13:20, 21. 22. What then should be the greatest concern of the Christian? "But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for the Anointed. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of the Anointed, Yahushua, my Master: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win the Anointed, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of the Anointed, the righteousness which is of Yahuwah by faith." There is much confusion today over what the covenants are. Especially is the New Covenant and its application to the Christian misunderstood. The new covenant is a covenant of grace. It introduces Yahushua to the sinner in his struggle to reach the standard of a holy law. It transforms man from a hopeless failure to a glorious success. It changes defeat into victory. It lifts man’s feet from the miry clay and plants them upon a solid rock. What is the New Covenant? It is Yahuwah’s promise that Yahushua by the Holy Spirit shall dwell in the hearts of His people and impart to them divine power to keep His holy law. It is Yahushua writing the law in the heart and not merely upon stone. It is the restoration of Yahuwah’s image in man by perfect obedience through the power of Yahushua. It opens the way back to Paradise. “Another compact--called in Scripture the "old" covenant--was formed between [Yahuwah] and Israel at Sinai, and was then ratified by the blood of a sacrifice. The Abrahamic covenant was ratified by the blood of [Yahushua], and it is called the "second," or "new," covenant, because the blood by which it was sealed was shed after the blood of the first covenant. That the new covenant was valid in the days of Abraham is evident from the fact that it was then confirmed both by the promise and by the oath of [Yahuwah]--the "two immutable things, in which it was impossible for [Yahuwah] to lie." Hebrews 6:18.” Patriarchs and Prophets page 371.

The Old Covenant 1. Define the term “covenant.” "To agree with, to enter into a formal agreement; to bind oneself by contract. An agreement between two or more persons or parties, or one of the stipulations in such an agreement." Webster Dictionary. 2. Where and with whom did Yahuwah make the “old” covenant? “In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai. For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount. And Moses went up unto Elohim, and Yahuwah called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel; Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself. Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which

What The Old Covenant Was Not 3. What proposition did Yahuwah submit to them? “Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.” Exodus19:5, 6. Answer: They shall be a kingdom of priests- a holy nation. 4. After Moses had explained the terms of the covenant to the people, what was the unanimous response? “And all the people answered together, and said, All that Yahuwah hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto Yahuwah.” “And Moses came and told the people all the words of Yahuwah, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which Yahuwah hath said will we do.” Exodus 19:8; 24:3. Answer: All that Yahuwah hath spoken we will do. 5. How was this covenant ratified? “And Moses came and told the people all the words of Yahuwah, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, All the words which Yahuwah hath said will we do. And Moses wrote all the words of Yahuwah, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel. And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto Yahuwah. And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that Yahuwah hath said will we do, and be obedient. And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which Yahuwah hath made with you concerning all these words.” Exodus 24:3-8. “Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. {dedicated: or, purified} For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, {scarlet: or, purple} Saying, This is the blood of the testament which Yahuwah hath enjoined unto you. Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.” Hebrews 9:18-21. 6. Less than forty days after making this covenant, while Moses tarried on the mount, what did Israel say to Aaron?

“Up, make us elohim, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.” Exodus 32:1. 7. What had Israel done before Moses had finished his audience with Yahuwah and come down from the mountaintop? “And Yahuwah said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy eloah, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.” Exodus 32:7,8. Answer: They made a molten calf. N0TE: The great object and secret of the old covenant is revealed here. The people did not realize the weakness and sinfulness of their own hearts, or their need of divine grace and help to keep the law; and so, in their ignorance, they readily pledged obedience. But almost immediately they began to commit idolatry, and thus to break the law of Yahuwah, or the very conditions laid down as their part of the covenant. In themselves the conditions were good; but in their own strength the people were unable to fulfill them. The great object of the old covenant therefore was to teach the people their weakness, and their inability to keep the law without Yahuwah’s help. This covenant was designed, like the law itself, over which it was made, to shut them up to the provisions of the new, or everlasting, covenant of grace and lead them to Yahushua. And the lesson which Israel as a nation had to learn, each individual now must learn before he can be saved. There is no salvation for any one while trusting in self. Unaided, no one can keep the law. Only in Yahushua is there remission of sins or power to keep from sinning. The breaking of the tables of the law signified that the terms of the covenant had been broken; the renewing of the tables (Exodus 34:1, 28), Yahuwah’s patience with His people. 8. What then was wrong with the old covenant? “For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith Yahuwah, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.” Hebrews 8:7,8. Answer: It had faults. The chief fault in connection with the old covenant lay with the people. They were not able, in themselves, to fulfill their part of it, and it provided them no help for so doing. Yahushua was not in it. It was of works and not of grace. It was valuable only as a means of impressing upon them their sinfulness and their need of divine aid. “The terms of the old covenant' were, Obey and live: 'If a man do, he shall even live in them' (Ezekiel 20:11; Leviticus 18:5); but 'cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them.' Deuteronomy 27:26. The 'new covenant' was established upon 'better promises'--the promise of forgiveness of sins and of the grace of [Yahuwah] to renew the heart and bring it into harmony with the principles of [Yahuwah's] law.” Patriarchs and Prophets, page 372.

9. Was the old covenant the Ten Commandments, the moral law? Answer: No, the old covenant was not the Ten Commandment law, but was instead an agreement made between Yahuwah and the people regarding the keeping of His commandments. “If ye will obey, ye shall live," was Yahuwah's promise. To this the people replied: "All that Yahuwah hath said will we do, and be obedient." Exodus 24:7. This was the covenant agreement. It was about the keeping of the Ten Commandment law, but it was not the law itself. The law was only the subject.

Better Promises 10. What became of the old covenant? “In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.” Hebrews 8:13. Answer: It vanished away. 11. With whom did Yahuwah make the new covenant? “For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith Yahuwah, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith Yahuwah.” Hebrews 8: 8,9. Answer: With the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. 12. How did the new covenant differ from the old one? “But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith Yahuwah, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their Eloah, and they shall be my people.” “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, Yahuwah sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” “Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith Yahuwah. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith Yahuwah; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them Eloah, and they shall be to me a people” Jeremiah 31:33; Romans 8:3,4; Hebrews 8:9,10. Answer: Yahuwah promised to write His law in their hearts. The new covenant is “the Anointed in you, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:27. (See also Ephesians 3:16-20; Philipians 4:13.)

The New Covenant Brings In A Mighty Helper 13. Who is the Mediator of this covenant?

“Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; . . . But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.” “And to Yahushua the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.” Hebrews 8:1, 6; 12:24. Answer: Yahushua the High Priest. 14. What is necessary where there is a covenant? “For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.” Hebrews 9:16, 17. Answer: Death.

A Deliverer Promised 15. How was Yahushua promised as soon as sin entered? “And Yahuwah Elohim said unto the serpent,.. . I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise His heel.” Genesis 3:14, 15. NOTE: The covenant of grace, with its provisions of pardon and peace, dates from the foundation of the world. 16. To whom was this covenant-promise later renewed? “Elohim said unto Abraham... 'Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.'" "I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars... and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.'” Genesis 17:15, 19; 26:4. 17. Who was the seed here referred to? “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is the Anointed.” Galatians 3:16. 18. What shows that the new, or second, covenant and the Abrahamic covenant are virtually the same? “And if ye be the Anointed's, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galations 3:29. NOTE: No one need be confused by the terms first covenant and second covenant. While the one made at Sinai is called the first covenant, it is by no means the first covenant that Yahuwah ever made with man. Long before this He made a covenant with Abraham; He also made a covenant with Noah, and with Adam. Neither must it be supposed that the first, or old, covenant existed for a time as the only covenant with mankind, and that this must serve its purpose and pass away before any one could share in the promised blessings of the

second or new covenant. In that case, during that time there would have been no pardon for anyone. What is called the new, or second, covenant virtually existed before the covenant made at Sinai; for the covenant with Abraham was confirmed in Yahushua (Galatians 3:17), and only through Yahushua is there any value to the new, or second, covenant. There is no blessing that can be gained by virtue of the new covenant that was not promised to Abraham. And we, with whom the new covenant is made, can share the inheritance which it promises only by being children of Abraham. (Galatians 3:7, 9.) Since no one can have anything except as a child of Abraham, it follows that there is nothing in what is called the new, or second, covenant that was not in the covenant made with Abraham. The second covenant existed in every essential feature, except its ratification, long before the first, even from the days of Adam. It is called second because its ratification occurred after the covenant made and ratified at Sinai. 19. With whose blood was the new covenant dedicated? “Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.” Luke 22:20. Answer: Yahushua’s blood. 20. Where and how was this new covenant ratified? “When Yahushua therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” “Yahushua saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my Eloah, and your Eloah.” John 19:30; 20:17. Answer: When Yahushua received the vinegar and died on the cross. NOTE: “[Yahushua] refused to receive the homage of His people until He had the assurance that His sacrifice was accepted by the Father. He ascended to the heavenly courts, and from [Yahuwah] Himself heard the assurance that His atonement for the sins of men had been ample, that through His blood all might gain eternal life. The Father ratified the covenant made with [Yahushua], that He would receive repentant and obedient men, and would love them even as He loves His Son.” The Desire of Ages, page 790. 21. What unites all believers under the new covenant? “Ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, were without the Anointed, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without Yahuwah in the world: but now in the Anointed Yahushua ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of the Anointed.” Ephesians 2:11-13. 22. By studying the new and old covenants what conclusion can we reach regarding salvation? “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of Yahuwah: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in the Anointed Yahushua unto good works, which Yahuwah hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:8.

The Old And New Compared 23. Under the old covenant, what did the people promise? Answer: To keep the law of Yahuwah in their own strength. N0TE: Under this covenant the people promised to keep all the commandments of Yahuwah in order to be His peculiar people, and this without help. This was virtually a promise to make themselves righteous. But Yahushua says, “Without Me ye can do nothing.” John 15:5. And the prophet Isaiah says, “All our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.” Isaiah 64:6. The only perfect righteousness is Yahuwah’s righteousness, obtained only through faith in Yahushua. (Romans 3:20-26.) The only righteousness that will ensure an entrance into the kingdom of Yahuwah is “the righteousness which is of Yahuwah by faith.” Philippians 3:9. Of those who inherit the kingdom, Yahuwah says, “Their righteousness is of Me” (Isaiah 54:17); and the prophet Jeremiah says of Yahushua, “This is His name whereby He shall be called, Yahuwah Our Righteousness” (Jeremiah 23:6). 24. Under the new covenant, what does Yahuwah promise to do? “I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts.” Jeremiah 31:33. Answer: The new covenant is an arrangement for bringing man again into harmony with the divine will, and placing him where he can keep Yahuwah’s law. Its “better promises” bring forgiveness of sins, grace to renew the heart, and power to obey the law of Yahuwah. Know ye not that ye are the temple of Yahuwah, and that the Spirit of Yahuwah dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of Yahuwah, him shall Yahuwah destroy; for the temple of Yahuwah is holy, which temple ye are. 1 Corinthians 3:16, 17. Let us look now at Yahuwah's plan for your health. “Transgression of physical law is transgression of the moral law; for [Yahuwah] is as truly the author of physical laws as He is the author of the moral law. His law is written with His own finger upon every nerve, every muscle, every faculty, which has been entrusted to man. And every misuse of any part of our organism is a violation of that law. "All should have an intelligent knowledge of the human frame that they may keep their bodies in the condition necessary to do the work of [Yahuwah]. The physical life is to be carefully preserved and developed that through humanity the divine nature may be revealed in its fullness. The relation of the physical organism to the spiritual life is one of the most important branches of education. It should receive careful attention in the home and in the school. All need to become acquainted with their physical structure and the laws that control natural life. He who remains in willing ignorance of the laws of his physical being and who violates them through ignorance is sinning against [Yahuwah]. All should place themselves in the best possible relation to life and health. Our habits should be brought under the control of a mind that is itself under the control of [Yahuwah].” Christ Object Lessons, page 347-348.

You Are Not Your Own 1. What is your body called, and to whom do you belong? “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of Yahuwah, and ye are not your own? NOTE: “Let the youth be impressed with the thought that they are not their own. They belong to [Yahushua]. They are the purchase of His blood, the claim of His love. They live because He keeps them by His power. Their time, their strength, their capabilities are His, to be developed, to be trained, to be used for Him. Answer: Yahuwah dwells in us. NOTE: “In the cleansing of the temple, Yahushua was announcing His mission as the Messiah, and entering upon His work. That temple, erected for the abode of the divine Presence, was designed to be an object lesson for Israel and for the world. From eternal ages it was [Yahuwah's] purpose that every created being, from the bright and holy seraph to man, should be a temple for the indwelling of the Creator. Because of sin, humanity ceased to be a temple for [Yahuwah]. Darkened and defiled by evil, the heart of man no longer revealed the glory of the Divine One. But by the incarnation of the Son of [Yahuwah], the purpose of Heaven is fulfilled. How do we become the temple of Yahuwah? “And what agreement hath the temple of Yahuwah with idols? for ye are the temple of the living Eloah; as Yahuwah hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their Eloah, and they shall be my people.” 2 Corinthians 6:16. NOTE: “There is sickness everywhere, and most of it might be prevented by attention to the laws of health. The people need to see the bearing of health principles upon their well-being, both for this life and for the life

to come. They need to be awakened to their responsibility for the human habitation fitted up by their Creator as His dwelling place, and over which He desires them to be faithful stewards. They need to be impressed with the truth conveyed in the words of Holy Writ: "Ye are the temple of the living [Eloah]; as [Yahuwah] hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their [Eloah], and they shall be My people. 2 Corinthians 6:16. Thousands need and would gladly receive instruction concerning the simple methods of treating the sick--methods that are taking the place of the use of poisonous drugs. There is great need of instruction in regard to dietetic reform. Wrong habits of eating and the use of unhealthful food are in no small degree responsible for the intemperance and crime and wretchedness that curse the world.” Ministry of Healing, page 146. 5. In view of this fact, what are we to do? “But he that is joined unto the Master is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of Yahuwah, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify Yahuwah in your body, and in your spirit, which are Yahuwah's.” 1 Corinthians 6:17-20. Answer: It is the lack of harmonious action in the human organism that brings disease. The imagination may control the other parts of the body to their injury. All parts of the system must work harmoniously. The different parts of the body, especially those remote from the heart, should receive a free circulation of blood. The limbs act an important part and should receive proper attention. Yahuwah is the great caretaker of the human machinery. In the care of our bodies we must co-operate with Him. Love for Yahuwah is essential for life and health. In order to have perfect health our hearts must be filled with hope and love and joy. The lower passions are to be strictly guarded. The perceptive faculties are abused, terribly abused, when the passions are allowed to run riot. When the passions are indulged, the blood, instead of circulating to all parts of the body, thereby relieving the heart and clearing the mind, is called in undue amount to the internal organs. Disease comes as the result. The man cannot be healthy until the evil is seen and remedied. He that is joined unto Yahuwah--bound up with Yahushua in the covenant of grace--is one spirit. Flee fornication. 1 Corinthians 6:17, 18. Do not stop for one moment to reason. Satan would rejoice to see you overthrown by temptation. Do not stop to argue the case with your weak conscience. Turn away from the first step of transgression. 6. What does it mean to present our bodies a living sacrifice? And why is it called a reasonable service? Answer: The love of Yahushua constrains us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died.; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. 2 Cor. 5:14. It is simple: Yahushua died for us, so we should live for Him. 1 Cor. 6:20 says, You were bought at a price; therefore glorify Yahuwah in your body and in your spirit, which are Yahuwah’s. 1 Cor. 9:24-27 says, Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the

prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown, . . .I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. The purpose in discipline is to keep this body offered to Yahuwah always in the best shape. Christians are compared to athletes, who are ready to discipline themselves for worldly fame. We should strive harder for eternal glory.

Yahuwah’s Desire For Us 7. What did John say about health? “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 2. NOTE: “Sickness, suffering, and death are work of an antagonistic power. Satan is the destroyer; [Yahuwah] is the restorer. The words spoken to Israel are true today of those who recover health of body or health of soul. I am [Yahuwah] that healeth thee. Exodus 15:26. The desire of [Yahuwah] for every human being is expressed in the words, Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 2. He it is who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving-kindness and tender mercies. Psalm 103:3, 4. When [Yahushua] healed disease, He warned many of the afflicted ones, Sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. John 5:14. Thus He taught that they had brought disease upon themselves by transgressing the laws of [Yahuwah], and that health could be preserved only by obedience.” Ministry of Healing, page 113. 8. How important is good health to any individual? Answer: Since the mind and the soul find expression through the body, both mental and spiritual vigor are in great degree dependent upon physical strength and activity; whatever promotes physical health, promotes the development of a strong mind and a well-balanced character. Without health no one can as distinctly understand or as completely fulfill his obligations to himself, to his fellow beings, or to his Creator. Therefore the health should be as faithfully guarded as the character. A knowledge of physiology and hygiene should be the basis of all educational effort. Education, page 195.

Fundamental Principles 9. How are the laws of nature to be considered? Answer: As the foundation principle of all education in these lines, the youth should be taught that the laws of nature are the laws of [Yahuwah]--as truly divine as are the precepts of the Decalogue. The laws that govern our physical organism, [Yahuwah] has written upon every nerve, muscle, and fiber of the body. Every careless or willful violation of these laws is a sin against our Creator.Education, page 196. 10. What is said of a merry heart and its effect on health? “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” Proverbs 17:22.

Answer: The relation which exists between the mind and the body is very intimate. When one is affected, the other sympathizes. The condition of the mind affects the health of the physical system. If the mind is free and happy, from a consciousness of right doing and a sense of satisfaction in causing happiness to others, it creates a cheerfulness that will react upon the whole system, causing a freer circulation of the blood and a toning up of the entire body. The blessing of [Yahuwah] is a healing power, and those who are abundant in benefiting others will realize that wondrous blessing in both heart and life.Counsels on Health, page 28. 11. How will the keeping of Yahuwah’s commandments affect life? “My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.” Proverbs 3:1, 2. 12. What effect do pleasant words have on the health? “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.” Proverns 16:24. 13. With whom is the fountain of life? “They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures. For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.” Psalms 36:8-10. 14. Why did Yahushua come to this world? “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10.

Man’s Original Diet 15. When Yahuwah created man, what did He give him to eat? Answer: Elohim said, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. Gen. 1:29 NOTE: The word meat is used in the King James Version, as it still is in Scotland, to represent food in general. The Bible Reader's Encyclopedia and Concordance, article, Meat. Advanced knowledge on nutrition affirms that food best suited to health is found in vegetables, fruits, grains and nuts. “In order to know what are the best foods, we must study [Yahuwah's] original plan for man's diet. He who created man and who understands his needs appointed Adam his food. . . . Grains, fruits, nuts, and vegetables constitute the diet chosen for us by our Creator. These foods, prepared in as simple and natural a manner as possible, are the most healthful and nourishing. They impart a strength, a power of endurance, and a vigor of intellect that are not afforded by a more complex and stimulating diet.” Ministry of Healing, page 295-296.

“Our bodies are built up from the food we eat. There is a constant breaking down of the tissues of the body; every movement of every organ involves waste, and this waste is repaired from our food. Each organ of the body requires its share of nutrition. The brain must be supplied with its portion; the bones, muscles, and nerves demand theirs. It is a wonderful process that transforms the food into blood and uses this blood to build up the varied parts of the body; but this process is going on continually, supplying with life and strength each nerve, muscle, and tissue.” Ministry of Healing, page 295.

Flesh As Food 16. When did Yahuwah permit man to eat flesh foods? “Before this time [Yahuwah] had given man no permission to eat animal food; He intended that the race should subsist wholly upon the productions of the earth; but now that every green thing had been destroyed. He allowed them to eat the flesh of the clean beasts that had been preserved in the ark.” Patriarchs and Prophets, page 107. Answer: After Noah’s flood, Yahuwah said in Gen. 9:3,4, Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat. It was after the flood that Yahuwah permitted man to eat flesh foods. At the time only one pair of unclean animals had been preserved, so man must have eaten only clean animals. According to Yahuwah's rules, the following animals are unclean and are not to be eaten: hogs, squirrels, rabbits, catfish, eels, lobsters, clams, crabs, shrimp, oysters, frogs, and many others. After the Jews came out of Egypt, Yahuwah gave them a norm for clean and unclean animals in Lev. 11:2-8: Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat. Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you. The feces of the hare are divided into hard and soft pellets. It chews the cud by eating the soft pellets. Lev. 11:9-11 teaches how to distinguish between clean and unclean animals that live in the water: These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat. And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you: They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination. 17. Does science support the avoidance of unclean foods?

Answer: Doctors trained in both Chinese and western medicine teach the sick to abstain from pork. People versed in medicine know that eating shrimp, crab and eel meat tends to excite latent diseases in the body, and eating fish with no scales can cause skin rashes like eczema. For fish toxins are excreted through the scales, so fish without scales retain more toxins in their flesh. The flesh of swine, lobsters, shrimps, crabs and eels have a high cholesterol content, lining the artery walls of all who eat them with fat, thereby increasing blood pressure. Nutritionist have made a study of 60,000 vegetarians, and have found that they live 5 to 6 years longer than meat eaters. The advantages of a vegetarian diet are many, but many people are led by their appetite to live to eat, instead of eating to live. The fact is, good cooking can make vegetables tasty. In a word, all who want to keep their bodies in the best shape so that they can give their best to Yahushua should be vegetarians. A good number of marathon runners are vegetarian, because a vegetable diet increases endurance. When an animal is slain, its blood no longer sustains the metabolism in the cells of the dead animal, yet the cells still function for a time (depending on the ambient temperature). However, as there is no blood to carry away the uric and lactic acid, they remain in the cells. When one eats the flesh, his digestive system must send these wastes through the bloodstream to the kidneys. As an athlete uses his muscles, the waste products from his own cells must be handled rapidly in order to avoid fatigue. But if there is meat in his intestines, the toxins from the meat are added to the blood stream, which fails to dispose of them rapidly enough, so fatigue develops faster than in a vegetarian athlete. 18. Relate the experience of the children of Israel when they clamored for flesh foods in the wilderness. “And Moses said, This shall be, when Yahuwah shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that Yahuwah heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against Yahuwah. . . . And Yahuwah spake unto Moses, saying, I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am Yahuwah your Eloah. And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host. And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which Yahuwah hath given you to eat.” Exodus 16:8, 11-15. Their rebellious desires were gratified, but they were left to suffer the result. They feasted without restraint, and their excesses were speedily punished. [Yahuwah] smote the people with a very great plague. [Numbers 11:33.] Large numbers were cut down by burning fevers, while the most guilty among them were smitten as soon as they tasted the food for which they had lusted.” Patriarchs and Prophets, page 382. “By departing from the plan divinely appointed for their diet, the Israelites suffered great loss. They desired a flesh diet, and they reaped its results. They did not reach [Yahuwah's] ideal of character or fulfill His purpose. [Yahuwah] 'gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.' Psalm 106:15. They valued the earthly

above the spiritual, and the sacred pre-eminence which was His purpose for them they did not attain.” Ministry of Healing, page 312.

Temperance 19. What principle for eating is set forth by Solomon? “Blessed art thou, O land, when thy king is the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness!” Ecclesiastes 10:17 20. What does the wise man say will come to the drunkard and glutton? “For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.” Proverbs 23:21. 21. What suggestion is given to one who is given to overeating? “And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.” Proverbs 23:2 22. Is flesh food as safe now as it was in the days of the Israelites? “Flesh was never the best food; but its use is now doubly objectionable, since disease in animals is so rapidly increasing. Those who use flesh foods little know what they are eating. Often if they could see the animals when living and know the quality of the meat they eat, they would turn from it with loathing. People are continually eating flesh that is filled with tuberculous and cancerous germs. Tuberculosis, cancer, and other fatal diseases are thus communicated.” The Ministry of Healing, page 313. 23. What should be done when flesh foods are discarded? “When flesh food is discarded, its place should be supplied with a variety of grains, nuts, vegetables, and fruits that will be both nourishing and appetizing. This is especially necessary in the case of those who are weak or who are taxed with continuous labor. In some countries where poverty abounds, flesh is the cheapest food. Under these circumstances the change will be made with greater difficulty; but it can be effected. We should, however, consider the situation of the people and the power of lifelong habit, and should be careful not to urge even right ideas unduly. None should be urged to make the change abruptly. The place of meat should be supplied with wholesome foods that are inexpensive. In this matter very much depends on the cook. With care and skill, dishes may be prepared that will be both nutritious and appetizing, and will, to a great degree, take the place of flesh food.” The Ministry of Healing, page 316. 24. What should be the governing influence in the selections of foods? “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of Yahuwah.” 1 Corinthians 10:31.

25. Apart from the diet, what else should a Christian give attention to, in order to keep his body in the best condition to serve Yahuwah? Answer: A. Breath fresh air: Our body needs fresh air to carry on metabolism effectively. B. Drink pure water: The water we drink should be filtered and used freely, to keep our kidneys functioning properly. To know we are drinking enough water the urine should be pale colored to colorless. C. Get regular exercise: The body was made for action, so every part needs daily exercise to keep it healthy. D. Get enough sleep: Adequate sleep ensures proper recuperation from fatigue. E. Don't smoke, drink or use drugs: 1Corinthians. 6:19 says, What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of Yahuwah, and ye are not your own?. The Bible does not mention smoking and drugs, but anything that defiles the temple of the Holy Spirit is harmful. F. Trust in Yahuwah: Isaiah. 26:3 says, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. This is true mental health to relieve stress.

The Gift Of Yahuwah 26. What was water called in some of the Oriental countries? “Yahushua answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of Yahuwah, and who it is that saith to thee, Give Me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of Him, and He would have given thee living water.” John 4:10. Answer: “In the East, water was called the gift of [Yahuwah]. To offer a drink to the thirsty traveler was held to be a duty so sacred that the Arabs of the desert would go out of their way in order to perform it.” The Desire of Ages, page 183. “In health and in sickness, pure water is one of heaven's choicest blessings. Its proper use promotes health. It is the beverage which [Yahuwah] provided to quench the thirst of animals and man. Drunk freely, it helps to supply the necessities of the system and assists nature to resist disease. The external application of water is one of the easiest and most satisfactory ways of regulating the circulation of the blood. A cold or cool bath is an excellent tonic. Warm baths open the pores and thus aid in the elimination of impurities. Both warm and neutral baths soothe the nerves and equalize the circulation.” The Ministry of Healing, page 237. 27. What is said of water as a necessity for man? “Next to the free air we breathe, water is man's greatest earthly possession.”-The Encyclopedia Americana, 1941 ed., vol. 29, 41.

Man can abstain from food for many days without serious damage to his body, but he cannot be without water many hours without experiencing difficulty. Water was appreciated by the ancient Semites more highly than by most other races on account of its scarcity in the lands that they inhabited. In the Arabian desert, their original home, it was obtainable only from the scanty springs that here and there broke through the arid ground. In Canaan and the other lands adjacent to the desert there was rainfall, but it was so scanty and uncertain as to be a constant source of anxiety. It is not surprising, therefore, that water is mentioned in the Bible more frequently than any other substance. In Isaiah 3:1; 33:16 ... it is regarded as one of the chief supports of life .... On account of its needfulness and its scarcity, water becomes in the Bible a figure of speech for all kinds of blessings, e.g., good news (Proverbs 25:25), ... and particularly for the divine grace (Psalm 23:2; Isaiah 32:2; 55:1; 58:11; John 7:38; Revelation 7:16; 21:6; 22:1, 17). -Jacobus, Nourse, and Zenos, A Standard Bible Dictionary, article, Water.

Nature Prepares Good Drinks 28. What other beverage is mentioned in the Bible as of frequent and profitable usage? Answer: The Bible mentioned the use of wine. See Genesis 14: 18; Matthew 26:29; John 2:1-11; 1 Timothy 5: 23. “The wine which [Yahushua] provided for the feast and that which He gave to the disciples as a symbol of His own blood, was the pure juice of the grape. To this the prophet Isaiah refers when he speaks of the new wine in the cluster, and says, 'Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it.' Isaiah 65:8. The Desire of Ages, page 149. In the Bible both fermented and fresh grape juice are called wine. The wine used at the Passover feast was fresh. See Matthew. 26:29. When Yahushua turned water into wine at the wedding feast, the master of the feast said to the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. John 2:10. Ancient Jews preserved grape juice by boiling it to a pasty concentrate and sealed it in urns. It was good wine. Fermented wine dulls the taste buds, so that the taste of grape juice is not fully relished, hence it was inferior. Fresh wine from the grape was used by kings. See Genesis. 40:11. Grapes ripen in summer and fall, so wine used at the Passover was all preserved grape juice. A papyri letter by a Jewish rabbi has been found in Egypt, telling how they preserved fresh wine for the feast.

Stimulants And Narcotics 29. Does the Bible give any warnings or admonitions regarding alcoholic beverages? Answer: The Bible early warned men against the danger of drinking fermented wine Noah disgraced himself; and his grandson, Canaan, was cursed because of it. Genesis 9: 20-25.   

Alcoholic beverages were forbidden to the Nazarites. Numbers 6:3; Judges 13:14. The Rechabites abstained from it. Jeremiah 35. Wine is a mocker. Proverbs 20:1.

It biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder. Proverbs 23:31,32. They also have erred through wine. Isaiah 28:7, 8. He transgresseth by wine. Habakkuk 2:5. Woe unto him that giveth his neighbor drink. Habakkuk 2:15. Be not drunk with wine. Ephesians 5:18. Elders and deacons not to be "given to wine." 1 Timothy 3:3; Titus 1:7; 2:3. Gentiles "walked in ... excess of wine." 1 Peter 4:3.

30. In what kind of "works" is drunkenness classed in the Bible? “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of Yahuwah.” Galatians 5: 19-21. 31. Is it true that men whom Yahuwah sets apart for a special mission do not drink fermented wine? Answer: Yes. Beside Yahushua, we have the example of John the Baptist. An angel said to his father, "But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John. . . For he shall be great in the sight of Yahuwah, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb. And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to Yahuwah their Eloah. And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for Yahuwah." Luke 1:13-17. "And John was clothed with camel's hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat locusts and wild honey." Mark 1:6. We may not need to follow all these particulars, but should practice his principle of simplicity and modesty--not indulging appetite nor being slaves of fashion. 32. What is the only safe and consistent course we can pursue regarding the use of stimulants and intoxicating liquors? NOTE: “The only safe course is to touch not, taste not, handle not. The tendency of tea, coffee, and similar drinks is in the same direction as that of alcoholic liquor and tobacco, and in some cases the habit is as difficult to break as it is for the drunkard to give up intoxicants. Those who attempt to leave off these stimulants will for a time feel a loss, and will suffer without them. But by persistence they will overcome the craving, and cease to feel the lack. Nature may require a little time to recover from the abuse she has suffered; but give her a chance, and she will again rally, and perform her work nobly and well.” The Ministry of Healing, page 355.

The world seeks financial security in all the wrong places. The only true financial security is found in the Father's tithing system. We will study this wonderful plan in this lesson.

Everything is His 1. To whom does everything in the world belong to? “The earth is Yahuwah’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” Psalm 24:1. “I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds. For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof." Psalm 50:9-12. "The earth is Yahuwah's and all its fullness." 1 Corinthians 10:26. Answer: Our Father in heaven. 2. To whom does the silver and the gold belong? Here Yahuwah is speaking, "The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith Yahuwah of Hosts." Haggai 2:8. Answer: Our Father. 3. Who has given us the capacity to develop the resources of the earth? “Thou shall remember Yahuwah thy Eloah: for it is He that gives thee power to get wealth.” Deuteronomy 8:18. “For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.” Acts 17:28. “Every man also to whom Elohim hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of Elohim.” Ecclesiastes 5:19. Answer: Our Father.

As a continual reminder of Yahuwah’s ownership and man’s stewardship, what did He require of His ancient people? “All the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is Yahuwah’s: it is holy unto Yahuwah.” Leviticus 27:30. Answer: Tithe is from a Hebrew word which means 'tenth'. While all we have comes from Yahuwah; He only requests us to return 1/10 as a reminder that everything is His. When we pay our tithe, we are but returning to Yahuwah what is already His. “The system of tithes and offerings was intended to impress the minds of men with a great truth--that [Yahuwah] is the source of every blessing to His creatures, and that to Him man's gratitude is due for the good gifts of His providence.” Patriarchs and Prophets, page 525. 5. How do we know that this divinely ordained tithing principle long preceded Israel’s organization as a nation? “Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high El. And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high El. And he gave him tithes of all.” Genesis 14:18-20. Answer: Tithing was practiced by men long before the Jewish nation had an existence. The giving of one tenth of all by Abraham to Melchizedek is the first recorded instance of tithing in the Old Testament. It is the model for us. Abraham’s tithing is free from all the objections that are made against tithing on the ground that it is a Jewish institution. “But the tithing system did not originate with the Hebrews. From the earliest times [Yahuwah] claimed a tithe as His, and this claim was recognized and honored. Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek, the priest of the most high [Yahuwah]. Genesis 14:20. Jacob, when at Bethel, an exile and a wanderer, promised [Yahuwah], "Of all that Thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto Thee." Genesis 28:22. As the Israelites were about to be established as a nation, the law of tithing was reaffirmed as one of the divinely ordained statutes upon obedience to which their prosperity depended.” Patriarchs and Prophets, page 525. 6. What vow did Jacob make? “This stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be Elohim’s house: and of all that Thou shall give me I will surely give the tenth unto Thee.” Genesis 28:22. 7. Could an Israelite use the tithe as he pleased? “You shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes. . . . Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of Yahuwah thy Eloah.” Deuteronomy 12:8,28.

“[Yahuwah] has given men no liberty to depart from His requirements. [Yahuwah] had declared to Israel, "Ye shall not do . . . every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes;" but ye shall "observe and hear all these words which I command thee." Deuteronomy 12:8, 28. In deciding upon any course of action we are not to ask whether we can see that harm will result from it, but whether it is in keeping with the will of [Yahuwah]. "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man; but the end thereof are the ways of death." Proverbs 14:12.” Patriarchs and Prophets, page 634. 8. To what object was Yahuwah’s tithe applied? “Behold, I have given the children of Levi the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.” Numbers 18:21. “And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham” Hebrews 7:5. Answer: The Levites were the tribe especially set apart for ministry to Yahuwah. Today the tithe is to be used for the support of Yahuwah's ministry throughout the world. 1 Corinthians 9:13, 14; Matthew 10:9, 10; Hebrews 7:6, 9. 9. Should ministers and workers of the gospel pay tithe on their income that comes from tithe? “Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for Yahuwah, even a tenth part of the tithe.” Numbers 18:26. 10. Did Yahushua recognize the principle of tithing? “But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of Yahuwah: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.” Luke 11:42. Answer: Yes, He did. Tithe does little good for the giver when given for show or to earn favor with Yahuwah. Yahushua said the Pharisees did right in giving their tithe, but they did it from a wrong motive, and were neglecting essential virtues, such as love, mercy, and faith. They needed a change of heart. Matt. 23:23. 11. What material blessings did Yahuwah also promise as a reward of faithfulness? “Honor Yahuwah with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all your increase: so shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” Proverbs 3:9, 10. A continual imparting of Yahuwah's gifts wherever the cause of Yahuwah or the needs of humanity demand our aid, does not tend to poverty. "There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty." Proverbs 11:24. The sower multiplies his seed by casting it

away. So it is with those who are faithful in distributing Yahuwah's gifts. By imparting they increase their blessings. "Give, and it shall be given unto you," Yahuwah has promised; "good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom." Luke 6:38. 12. How did Yahuwah designate the withholding of His tithe? “Will a man rob Elohim? Yet you have robbed Me. But you say, Wherein have we robbed Thee? In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse: for you have robbed Me, even this whole nation.” Malachi 3:8, 9. Answer: To withhold the tithe was regarded by Yahuwah as robbery. If robbing man is bad, how much more serious it is to rob Yahuwah! Luke 6:38; Proverbs. 11:24, 25. 13. What stewardship did Paul declare was given to believers in the gospel dispensation? “Do you not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? And they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? Even so hath the Master ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.” 1 Corinthians 9:13, 14. See also verse 11. Answer: The apostle here referred to Yahuwah's plan for the maintenance of the priests who ministered in the temple. Those who were set apart to this holy office were supported by their brethren, to whom they ministered spiritual blessings. "Verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law." Hebrews 7:5. The tribe of Levi was chosen by Yahuwah for the sacred offices pertaining to the temple and the priesthood. Of the priest it was said, "Yahuwah thy Eloah hath chosen him . . . to stand to minister in the name of Yahuwah." (Deuteronomy 18:5.) One tenth of all the increase was claimed by Yahuwah as His own. 14. Who was tithe to be given to in the time of the Apostles? "Mine answer to them that examine me is this...Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also?...If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?...Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple?...Even so hath the Master ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel." 1 Corinthians 9:3, 7-8, 11, 13, 14. "The laborer is worthy of his reward." 1 Timothy 5:18. 15. Today, how is Yahuwah's tithe to be used in His true ekklesia? Answer: It is to be especially devoted to the support of those who are bearing Yahuwah's message to the world, and it should not be diverted from this purpose. Yahuwah's ministers are His shepherds, appointed by Him to feed His flock. The tithe is His provision for their maintenance, and He designs that it shall be held sacred for this purpose.

16. How is tithe and offerings to be kept in a home ekklesia settings, can the ekklesia members from among themselves a trusted treasurer to keep the records of the money? “Look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the work.” Acts 6:3. For new, small ekklesia, we are given this extremely practical counsel in regards to choosing a leader for an ekklesia. “Such arrangements should be made for the little companies accepting the truth as shall secure the prosperity of the [ekklesia]. One man may be appointed to lead for a week or a month, then another for a few weeks; and thus different persons may be enlisted in the work, and after a suitable trial someone should be selected by the voice of the [ekklesia] to be the acknowledged leader, never, however, to be chosen for more than one year. Then another may be selected, or the same one may be re-elected, if his service has proved a blessing to the [ekklesia].…Many fail to exercise proper discernment in these important matters where eternal interests are involved.” Testimonies for the Church, Volume 5, page 619, Answer: Yes. 17. Are there other areas that Yahuwah has specified His sacred reserve could be used for other than gospel ministers? Answer: Yes, there are other areas such as publishing houses and medical missionaries . A. We can support the ministry by publishing and distributing printed truth. B. A minister of the gospel who is also a medical missionary, who can cure physical ailments, is a much more efficient worker than one who cannot do this. His work as a minister of the gospel is much more complete. NOTE: Institutions that are Yahuwah's instruments to carry forward His work on the earth must be sustained. Publishing houses furnished with facilities for doing a great work in the publication of the truth to be sent to all parts of the world. These institutions are ordained of Yahuwah and should be sustained by tithes and liberal offerings. In other words those agencies who are active in getting Yahuwah's precious present truths out to others--are the only ones to be supported with Yahuwah's sacred tithe, then it becomes easy to discern all the other areas that are not to be supported with Yahuwah's tithe. 18. Are unfaithful ministers or fallen churches to be supported with tithe? Answer: No, If we give money to churches in apostasy and corruption, or to those who are teaching error, or to those who are involved in fanaticism, or to other areas of Satan, then we are held guilty before Yahuwah of furthering and advancing apostasy. It would be poor policy to support from the treasury of Yahuwah those who really mar and injure His work, and who are constantly lowering the standard of Christianity.

The Jewish leaders were masters at getting their church membership to believe that it was not their individual duty to carry out their own convictions regarding Yahuwah's money. But, as a rule, they were to pay their tithes, offerings, and gifts into the church system, and then let their leaders control where this money should go. "The Jewish rulers recognized the obligation of tithing, and this was right; but they did not leave the people to carry out their own convictions of duty. Arbitrary rules were laid down..." The Desire of Ages, page 617. Yahuwah has made each one of us His trusted stewards. Hence we are held individually responsible for where we give Yahuwah's sacred money and to whom it goes to support. And no one--not even the ekklesia--has the authority to tell us differently. The money belongs to Yahuwah, and not to the ekklesia or its leadership! 19. In what particular are the tithe and the Sabbath alike? “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of Yahuwah thy Eloah: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days Yahuwah made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore Yahuwah blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.” Exodus 20:8-11. “And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is Yahuwah's: it is holy unto Yahuwah.” Leviticus 27:30. NOTE: Both belong to Him. “[Yahuwah] reserved to Himself a specified portion of man's time and of his means, and no man could, without guilt, appropriate either for his own interests.” Patriarchs and Prophets, page 525.

Offerings 20. Beside the tithe, what else did the children of Israel give to further the work of Yahuwah? “And Moses spake unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which Yahuwah commanded, saying, Take ye from among you an offering unto Yahuwah: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of Yahuwah; gold, and silver, and brass.” “And they received of Moses all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it withal. And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning. And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came every man from his work which they made; And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which Yahuwah commanded to make.” Ex. 35:4, 5; 36:3-5. “The tithe was to be exclusively devoted to the use of the Levites, the tribe that had been set apart for the service of the sanctuary. But this was by no means the limit of the contributions for religious purposes. The tabernacle, as afterward the temple, was erected wholly by freewill offerings; and to provide for necessary repairs and other expenses, Moses directed that as often as the people were numbered, each should contribute a half shekel for "the service of the tabernacle." In the time of Nehemiah a contribution was made yearly for this purpose. See Exodus 30:12-16; 2 Kings 12:4, 5; 2 Chronicles 24:4-13; Nehemiah 10:32, 33.” Patriarchs and Prophets, page 526.

Answer: Offerings other than the tithe. 21. With what regularity should Christians set apart their tithes and offerings for the cause of Yahuwah, and on what basis? “Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as Yahuwah hath prospered him.” 1 Corinthians 16:2. Answer: Tithing does not belong to “the law of commandments contained in ordinances,” which were nailed “to His cross.” It is not typical, nor does it foreshadow anything. It is a continual reminder of Yahuwah’s ownership. The death of Yahushua did not change the fact of Yahuwah’s ownership. It rather deepens the Christian’s realization of his debt. The obligation to acknowledge that ownership by tithes and offerings is thus strengthened, not diminished. NOTE: “A striking illustration of the results of selfishly withholding even freewill offerings from the cause of [Yahuwah] was given in the days of the prophet Haggai. After their return from the captivity in Babylon, the Jews undertook to rebuild the temple of [Yahuwah]; but meeting determined opposition from their enemies, they discontinued the work; and a severe drought, by which they were reduced to actual want, convinced them that it was impossible to complete the building of the temple. "The time is not come," they said, "the time that [Yahuwah's] house should be built." But a message was sent them by [Yahuwah's] prophet: "Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your ceiled houses, and this house lie waste? Now therefore thus saith [Yahuwah] of hosts; Consider your ways. Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages, earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes." Haggai 1:2-6. And then the reason is given: "Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith [Yahuwah] of hosts. Because of Mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house. Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit. And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labor of the hands." Verses 9-11.” Patriarchs and Prophets, page 527.

Windows Of Heaven 22. In what spirit should we give our offerings? “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for Yahuwah loveth a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7. “Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.” Matthew 6:1-4.

“For ye know the grace of our Master Yahushua, the Anointed, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” 2 Corinthians 8:9. Answer: With true gratitude of heart for the blessings He has bestowed. "In the days of the apostles, men went everywhere preaching the word. New [ekklesia] were raised up. Their love and zeal for [Yahushua] led them to acts of great denial and sacrifice. Many of these Gentile [ekklesia] were very poor, yet the apostle declares that their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their liberality. Their gifts were extended beyond their ability to give. Men imperiled their lives and suffered the loss of all things for the truth's sake." Testimonies For The Church, Volume 3, page 413. "]Yahuwah[ designs that the exercise of benevolence shall be purely voluntary, not having recourse even to eloquent appeals to excite sympathy. '[Yahuwah] loveth a cheerful giver.' He is not pleased to have His treasury replenished with forced supplies. The loyal hearts of His people, rejoicing in the saving truth for this time, will, through love and gratitude to Him for this precious light, be earnest and anxious to aid with their means in sending the truth to others. The very best manner in which to give expression to our love for our Redeemer is to make offerings to bring souls to the knowledge of the truth. The plan of redemption was entirely voluntary on the part of our Redeemer, and it is the purpose of [Yahushua] that all our benevolence should be freewill offerings." Testimonies For The Church, Volume 3, page 413. 23. Where is the only place our money is secure? “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matt. 6:19-21. [Luke 12:33, 34] Answer: Any money we possess is a trust that belong to the Father, with it we can meet our necessities and the rest is to be spent in Yahuwah's service. Then, when everything in this world perishes, we shall have a treasure in the heavens, which faileth not. 24. What divine promise to Israel of old may be claimed equally by believers today? “Bring you all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat In Mine house, and prove Me now herewith, said Yahuwah of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Malachi 3:10. Answer: There are many thousands of earnest Christian people in every land who have embraced Yahuwah’s plan for the support and extension of His work. Without exception they testify that, as they have rendered a faithful tithe, Yahuwah has blessed what remained as He did the barrel of meal and the cruse of oil of the woman of Zarephath. With one accord they rejoice in reaching higher ground in faith and life. And as they have seen the result of their giving in souls won for the kingdom of Yahuwah, they have found a satisfaction of spirit which is indeed their chief reward.

Yahuwah calls for His tithe to be given in to His treasury. Strictly, honestly, and faithfully, let this portion be returned to Him. Besides this, He calls for your gifts and offerings. No one is compelled to present his tithe or his gifts and offerings to Yahuwah. Our Father in Heaven has done so much for us. Tithing is a privilege. Yahuwah tells us to put Him to the test. “Prove me”, He says. Will you take Him at His word?

"Whose adorning let it not be that outward [adorning] of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of Yahuwah of great price." 1 Peter 3:3,4. A person’s character is judged by his style of dress. A refined taste, a cultivated mind, will be revealed in the choice of simple and appropriate attire.

Separate From The World 1. Why did Adam and Eve sew “fig leaves together” and make aprons for themselves? “And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. . . And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.” Genesis 3:7, 10. Answer: Because of their sin. In their Edenic state man and woman wore only the garment of their innocence. A beautiful soft light, the light of Yahuwah, enshrouded the holy pair. This robe of light was a symbol of their spiritual garments of heavenly innocence. Had they remained true to Yahuwah it would ever have continued to enshroud them. But when sin entered, they severed their connection with Yahuwah, and the light that had encircled them departed. Naked and ashamed, they tried to compensate for the loss of the heavenly garments by sewing together fig leaves for a covering. 2. Who made the first “coats of skins”? “Unto Adam also and to his wife did Yahuwah Elohim make coats of skins, and clothed them.” Genesis 3:21. Answer: It was Yahuwah. Fashion began as our guilty parents were expelled from the Garden of Eden. Innocence was gone, the robe of light had faded, and Adam and Eve, shivering and cringing in the nakedness of sin, sewed together fig leaves to cover themselves. Their temporary covering was soon replaced by skin garments provided by Yahuwah Himself (Genesis 3:20). As people became increasingly corrupt, they tried to replace the beautiful simplicity of their innocence with inventions of fabrics, fashions, and ornaments of gold, jewels, and pearls. The more depraved people became, the more extravagant became their clothes and ornaments. 3. What is to be the relationship between Yahuwah’s people and those who are in the world?

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath the Anointed with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of Yahuwah with idols? for ye are the temple of the living Eloah; as Yahuwah hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their Eloah, and they shall be my people.” 2 Corinthians 6:14-18. Answer: Yahushua’s followers are required to come out from the world, and be separate, and touch not the unclean, and they have the promise of being the sons and daughters of the Most High, members of the royal family. But if the conditions are not complied with on their part, they will not, cannot, realize the fulfillment of the promise. A profession of Christianity is nothing in the sight of Yahuwah; but true, humble, willing obedience to His requirements designates the children of His adoption. 4. How does dress relate to our separation from the world? “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of Yahuwah abideth for ever.” 1 John 2:15-17. Answer: Yahuwah will have a people separate and distinct from the world. And as soon as any have a desire to imitate the fashions of the world, that they do not immediately subdue, just so soon Yahuwah ceases to acknowledge them as His children. They are the children of the world and of darkness. They lust for the leeks and onions of Egypt, that is, desire to be as much like the world as possible; by so doing, those that profess to have put on Yahushua virtually put Him off, and show that they are strangers to grace and strangers to the meek and lowly Yahushua. If they had acquainted themselves with Him, they would walk worthy of Him.

The Fashion Of This World 5. Why did Yahuwah give the people of Israel specific instructions regarding their dress? “Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue: And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of Yahuwah, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring: That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your Eloah. I am Yahuwah your Elohim, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your Elohim: I am Yahuwah your Elohim.” Numbers 15:3841. Answer: Yahuwah expressly commanded a very simple arrangement of dress for the children of Israel for the purpose of distinguishing them from the idolatrous nations around them. As they looked upon their peculiarity of dress, they were to remember that they were Yahuwah’s commandment-keeping people, and that He had wrought in a miraculous manner to bring them from Egyptian bondage to serve Him, to be a holy people unto Him. They were not to serve their own desires, or to imitate the idolatrous nations around them, but to remain a distinct, separate people, that all who looked upon them might say: These are they whom Yahuwah

brought out of the land of Egypt, who keep the law of Ten Commandments. An Israelite was known to be such as soon as seen, for Yahuwah through simple means distinguished him as His. 6. What factors should guide in our choice of clothing? “Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil” Exodus 23:2 (first part). Answer: Christians should not take pains to make themselves gazing-stocks by dressing differently from the world. But if, in accordance with their faith and duty in respect to their dressing modestly and healthfully, they find themselves out of fashion, they should not change their dress in order to be like the world. But they should manifest a noble independence and moral courage to be right, if all the world differs from them. If the world introduces a modest, convenient, and healthful mode of dress, which is in accordance with the Bible, it will not change our relation to Yahuwah or to the world to adopt such a style of dress. Christians should follow Yahushua, and conform their dress to Yahuwah’s word. They should shun extremes. They should humbly pursue a straight-forward course, irrespective of applause or of censure, and should cling to the right because of its own merits.

Character Traits 7. What is revealed through our choice of clothing? “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of Yahuwah.” “Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of Yahuwah of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in Yahuwah, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands” “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing piety) with good works.” 1 Corinthians 10:31; 1 Peter 3:3-5; 1 Timothy 2:9, 10. Answer: A person’s character is judged by his style of dress. A refined taste, a cultivated mind, will be revealed in the choice of simple and appropriate attire. Chaste simplicity in dress, when united with modesty of demeanor, will go far toward surrounding a young woman with that atmosphere of sacred reserve which will be to her a shield from a thousand perils. "The dress and its arrangement upon the person is generally found to be the index of the man or the woman." The Review and Herald, Jan. 30, 1900. "We judge of a person’s character by the style of dress worn. A modest, [Yahuwah-like] woman will dress modestly. A refined taste, a cultivated mind, will be revealed in the choice of a simple, appropriate attire."The Review and Herald, Nov. 17, 1904. 8. What other factor is to be considered when choosing apparel?

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 2. Answer: Satan is constantly devising some new style of dress that shall prove an injury to physical and moral health; and he exults when he sees professed Christians eagerly accepting the fashions that he has invented. The amount of physical suffering created by unnatural and unhealthful dress cannot be estimated. Many have become lifelong invalids through their compliance with the demands of fashion. 9. What are the results, both spiritual and physical, of using cosmetics? “And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life.” Jeremiah 4:30. “The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.” Isaiah 3:9. “When the Sovereign shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.” Isaiah 4:4. NOTE: "Many are ignorantly injuring their health and endangering their lives by using cosmetics. . . When they become heated. . . the poison is absorbed by the pores of the skin, and is thrown into the blood. Many lives have been sacrificed by this means alone." Healthful Living, page. 189. "Ladies may resort to cosmetics to restore the tint of the complexion, but they cannot thus bring back the glow of healthful feelings to the heart. Practical Lessons 10. What does Yahuwah call the wearing of clothing that pertains to the opposite sex? “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto Yahuwah your Eloah.” Deuteronomy 22:5. Answer: There is an increasing tendency to have women in their dress and appearance as near like the other sex as possible, and to fashion their dress very much like that of men, but Yahuwah pronounces it abomination. ‘In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety’ (1 Timothy 2:9). Those who feel called out to join the movement in favor of woman’s rights and the so-called dress reform might as well sever all connection with the third angel’s message. The spirit which attends the one cannot be in harmony with the other. The Scriptures are plain upon the relations and rights of men and women. 11. Why is it important to always wear clean clothing?

“And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean. . . He shall therefore burn that garment, whether warp or woof, in woollen or in linen, or any thing of skin, wherein the plague is: for it is a fretting leprosy; it shall be burnt in the fire.” Leviticus 13:45, 52. “And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days. But it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, also he shall wash his flesh in water, and he shall be clean.” Leviticus 14:8, 9. NOTE: "It is important also that the clothing be kept clean. The garments worn absorb the waste matter that passes off through the pores; if they are not frequently changed and washed, the impurities will be reabsorbed." The Ministry of Healing, page. 276. 12. What guidance is given concerning care in dressing the limbs of the body? “She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. {scarlet: or, double garments}” Proverbs 31:21. NOTE: "The limbs were not formed to endure exposure, as was the face. Children who are clothed according to fashion cannot be outdoors much, unless the weather is mild. Therefore they are kept in ill-ventilated rooms, for fear of the cold; and well they may be, with their fashionable style of clothing. But if they were comfortably clothed, it would not harm them to exercise freely in the open air summer or winter. Unhealthful dress brings many a child to a state of invalidism, or, which in many cases may be preferable, to an early death. Thus fashion fills the homes of its slaves with invalids, and our cemeteries with little graves."—Christian Temperance and Bible Hygiene, page. 90

Testing Character 13. Before a person can be baptized, what is to be one of the main considerations? “Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” Matthew 7:16-20. Answer: One of the points upon which those newly come to the faith will need instruction is the subject of dress. Let the new converts be faithfully dealt with. Are they vain in dress? Do they cherish pride of heart? The idolatry of dress is a moral disease. It must not be taken over into the new life. In most cases, submission to the gospel requirements will demand a decided change in the dress. 14. If a person continues to follow the fashions of the world, what should the ekklesia do? Matthew 18:17.

“And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the ekklesia: but if he neglect to hear the ekklesia, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.” “ Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Master Yahushua, the Anointed, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.” 2Thessalonians 3:6. Answer: Obedience to fashion is pervading among "Christians" and is doing more than any other power to separate our people from Yahuwah. All exhibitions of pride in dress, which is forbidden in the word of Yahuwah, should be sufficient reason for church discipline. If there is a continuance, in face of warnings and appeals and entreaties, to still follow the perverse will, it may be regarded as proof that the heart is in no way assimilated to Yahushua. Self, and only self, is the object of adoration, and one such professed Christian will lead many away from Yahuwah. There is a terrible sin upon us as a people, that we have permitted our members to dress in a manner inconsistent with their faith. We must arise at once and close the door against the allurements of fashion. Unless we do this, our members will become demoralized. 15. What has Yahuwah promised about our clothing? “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if Yahuwah so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of Yahuwah, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:25-33. 16. What do we need to do to receive the robe of Yahushua’s glory at His Return? “"I counsel you to buy from me . . . white garments to clothe you and to keep the shame of your nakedness from being seen" Revelation 3:18. Answer: We need now to "put off the old nature" (Eph 4:23) and to "put on the Master Yahushua, the Anointed" (Rom 13:14). The white robe of righteousness we are called to wear in this present life is not a garment woven by our efforts, but offered to us by Yahushua. The nakedness of sin is covered by the glistening white garments offered by Yahushua. His promise to those "who have not soiled their garments" is that "they shall walk with me in white" (Rev 3:4.). NOTE: “While superfluous trimming and ornaments are to be avoided, as opposed to our profession as followers of the meek and lowly [Yahushua], we would not discourage the exercise of correct taste, neatness, and order in dress. There are those who are careless of their apparel, and are always harping on pride in dress. They think it a virtue to be untidy, and to dress without order or taste. They class decency and neatness with pride, and excuse themselves for their neglect of apparel, even upon the Sabbath, under pretense of carrying out that separation from the world which the word of [Yahuwah] requires of his people. If these persons had

an engagement to meet a friend honored by the world, and they wished to be especially favored by him, they would exert themselves to appear in his presence with the best and neatest apparel they could obtain. Yet when they meet upon the Sabbath to worship the great [Yahuwah], they think it is of no consequence in what dress they appear, or what is the condition of their person. In His house, which is as the audience-chamber of the Most High, where heavenly angels are in attendance, they assemble with but little respect or reverence. All who meet upon the Sabbath to worship [Yahuwah], should, if possible, have neat, well-fitting, comely garments to wear in the house of worship. It is a dishonor to the Sabbath, to [Yahuwah], and to his house, for those who profess to believe that the Sabbath is the holy of [Yahuwah], and honorable, to wear upon that day the soiled clothing which they have worn through the labors of the week, if they can obtain anything more suitable." Our time belongs to Yahuwah. Every moment is His, and we are under the most solemn obligation to improve it to His glory. Of no talent He has given will He require a more strict account than of our time.

The Value of Time The value of time is beyond computation. Yahushua regarded every moment as precious, and it is thus that we should regard it. Life is too short to be trifled away. We have but a few days of probation in which to prepare for eternity. We have no time to waste, no time to devote to selfish pleasure, no time for the indulgence of sin. It is now that we are to form characters for the future, immortal life. It is now that we are to prepare for the searching judgment. The human family have scarcely begun to live when they begin to die, and the world's incessant labor ends in nothingness unless a true knowledge in regard to eternal life is gained. The man who appreciates time as his working day will fit himself for a mansion and for a life that is immortal. It is well that he was born. We are admonished to redeem the time. But time squandered can never be recovered. We cannot call back even one moment. The only way in which we can redeem our time is by making the most of that which remains, by being co-workers with Yahuwah in His great plan of redemption. In him who does this, a transformation of character takes place. He becomes a son of Yahuwah, a member of the royal family, a child of the heavenly King. He is fitted to be the companion of the angels. Now is our time to labor for the salvation of our fellow men. There are some who think that if they give money to the cause of Yahushua, this is all they are required to do; the precious time in which they might do personal service for Him passes unimproved. But it is the privilege and duty of all who have health and strength to render to Yahuwah active service. All are to labor in winning souls to Yahushua. Donations of money cannot take the place of this. Every moment is freighted with eternal consequences. We are to stand as minute men, ready for service at a moment's notice. The opportunity that is now ours to speak to some needy soul the word of life may never offer again. Yahuwah may say to that one, "This night thy soul shall be required of thee," and through our neglect he may not be ready. (Luke 12:20.) In the great judgment day, how shall we render our account to Yahuwah? Life is too solemn to be absorbed in temporal and earthly matters, in a treadmill of care and anxiety for the things that are but an atom in comparison with the things of eternal interest. Yet Yahuwah has called us to serve Him in the temporal affairs of life. Diligence in this work is as much a part of true religion as is devotion.

The Bible gives no endorsement to idleness. It is the greatest curse that afflicts our world. Every man and woman who is truly converted will be a diligent worker.

Improving Time Upon the right improvement of our time depends our success in acquiring knowledge and mental culture. The cultivation of the intellect need not be prevented by poverty, humble origin, or unfavorable surroundings. Only let the moments be treasured. A few moments here and a few there, that might be frittered away in aimless talk; the morning hours so often wasted in bed; the time spent in traveling on trams or railway cars, or waiting at the station; the moments of waiting for meals, waiting for those who are tardy in keeping an appointment--if a book were kept at hand, and these fragments of time were improved in study, reading, or careful thought, what might not be accomplished. A resolute purpose, persistent industry, and careful economy of time, will enable men to acquire knowledge and mental discipline which will qualify them for almost any position of influence and usefulness. It is the duty of every Christian to acquire habits of order, thoroughness, and dispatch. There is no excuse for slow bungling at work of any character. When one is always at work and the work is never done, it is because mind and heart are not put into the labor. The one who is slow and who works at a disadvantage should realize that these are faults to be corrected. He needs to exercise his mind in planning how to use the time so as to secure the best results. By tact and method, some will accomplish as much in five hours as others do in ten. Some who are engaged in domestic labor are always at work not because they have so much to do but because they do not plan so as to save time. By their slow, dilatory ways they make much work out of very little. But all who will, may overcome these fussy, lingering habits. In their work let them have a definite aim. Decide how long a time is required for a given task, and then bend every effort toward accomplishing the work in the given time. The exercise of the will power will make the hands move deftly. Through lack of determination to take themselves in hand and reform, persons can become stereotyped in a wrong course of action; or by cultivating their powers they may acquire ability to do the very best of service. Then they will find themselves in demand anywhere and everywhere. They will be appreciated for all that they are worth.

A Message for Youth and Parents By many children and youth, time is wasted that might be spent in carrying home burdens, and thus showing a loving interest in father and mother. The youth might take upon their strong young shoulders many responsibilities which someone must bear. The life of Yahushua from His earliest years was a life of earnest activity. He lived not to please Himself. He was the Son of the infinite Eloah, yet He worked at the carpenter's trade with His father Joseph. His trade was significant. He had come into the world as the character builder, and as such all His work was perfect. Into all His secular labor He brought the same perfection as into the characters He was transforming by His divine power. He is our pattern.

Parents should teach their children the value and right use of time. Teach them that to do something which will honor Yahuwah and bless humanity is worth striving for. Even in their early years they can be missionaries for Yahuwah. Parents cannot commit a greater sin than to allow their children to have nothing to do. The children soon learn to love idleness, and they grow up shiftless, useless men and women. When they are old enough to earn their living, and find employment, they work in a lazy, droning way, yet expect to be paid as much as if they were faithful. There is a world-wide difference between this class of workers and those who realize that they must be faithful stewards. Indolent, careless habits indulged in secular work will be brought into the religious life and will unfit one to do any efficient service for Yahuwah. Many who through diligent labor might have been a blessing to the world, have been ruined through idleness. Lack of employment and of steadfast purpose opens the door to a thousand temptations. Evil companions and vicious habits deprave mind and soul, and the result is ruin for this life and for the life to come. Whatever the line of work in which we engage, the word of Yahuwah teaches us to be "not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving Yahuwah." "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might," "knowing that of the Master ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance; for ye serve the Master, the Anointed."
