CHRIST IN THE PSALMS You Alone, O Lord Psalm 4 This study guide is intended to be used for personal study and within your community group to facilitate discussion.

Read Psalm 4 (1) During a difficult circumstance, is your first inclination to turn to God in prayer? Why or why not? (2) When you feel trouble surrounding you, how does the reality that you belong to God shape your outlook on the circumstance that may surround you? Does this reflect the psalmist’s posture? Why or why not? (3) What does David mean by the command, “be angry and do not sin”? What are we to do in order for this to be true in our lives? (4) How is it possible to experience joy and peace even in difficult seasons of life? Can that joy and peace exist even if the circumstances don’t immediately change? Why or why not?

*Please take time each day and pray through the current psalm during our series and allow God to shape your thoughts and feelings toward Him, as well as your prayers to Him.
