Open House at Central Have you ever met a new visitor on Sunday morning and haven’t quite been sure about how to direct them to their class? Are you a little confused about exactly where your (or your child’s) new Sunday school room will be in the fall? Change can be stressful--even more so when you are unsure where you are supposed to go or who can help direct you. To help everyone become more familiar with all areas of our campus and to help reduce some of the stress of the beginning of the fall, the Family Ministry team is hosting a church-wide Open House. Next Sunday, August 25, you are invited to come and join us as we play a large game of destination BINGO. Just like regular BINGO, you will have a card with a grid. 5 spots in a row and you can win a prize! The exciting part is that to fill a spot, you will need to go to that specific location in the church! What better way to learn your way around Central than by earning a prize? To take part in this exciting game, be sure to grab your BINGO card from the Fellowship Hall between 1010:45am next Sunday. This fun event is open to all families, not

just kids! This is a great way for everyone to get to know the Central campus and figure out where different classrooms are, how to get to the Student Center from the Sanctuary, and see where our staff have their offices. This is also a perfect opportunity to help serve our community and our visitors. Trying to navigate around Central can be tricky due to our campus being spread out, and that can make it difficult for guests and new members to really figure out their way around. We hope that by having this open house, we all can become more familiar with our church as a congregation to better welcome our visitors. This open house and BINGO game will be a great time, and we look forward to seeing you all over Central next Sunday! This is open to everyone, so invite your friends and family to take part! If you have any questions about this open house or about the BINGO game, contact Karen Brown, Director of Family Ministries ([email protected]). Karen would also love to answer any other questions you might have regarding Family Ministries here at Central.

Love for Honduras

A Taste of Central

This past week our high school students and leaders had the chance to spend a week down in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to work with the Micah Project.

If you're visiting Central, whether for the first or 50th time, you may have many questions regarding our church and our ministries. Maybe you would like to become a member as well! If so, we hope you will join us TODAY after the 9am service in the Fellowship Hall for a Taste of Central.

Micah serves as a home for young men that have spent much of their short lives living on the streets surrounded by gang violence and drug addiction. Instead of being disregarded and forgotten, the boys are given a place to live, food, education, and are shown the powerful and overwhelming love of God. Ari Dayoub, one of the leaders on the trip says, "Our trip was filled with laughter, tears, and a deeper understanding of God’s redeeming love! While going to Micah is so amazing, leaving is just as hard. We are thankful for the Micah family--the boys, the staff, the volunteers, and even those who have returned to the street. Please continue to pray with us for Honduras and what the Lord is doing through Micah. Thank you for all of your support and prayers leading up to, during, and after our trip. We could not have had this experience without our supporters. Que Dios te bendiga!"

Taste of Central is a great chance to meet members of our staff and lay leadership and to learn more about Central and how you can get involved. We invite you to come and learn about our ministries and how to get connected. Be sure to bring your list of questions your would like us to address! Coffee and snacks will be available. If you are unable to attend but would like some help in finding your fit at Central, please contact Kate Spielman (kspielman@ centralpres.com or 314-8540178) for more information. If you are unable to attend and you want to learn more about becoming a member of Central, consider attending the upcoming Discovery class. Discovery is not required but very helpful. For more information, contact Pastor Ben Tzeng ([email protected] or 314-727-2777).
