The Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation works to improve the quality and effectiveness of leadership in the Franklin County are by administering Leadership Franklin County. Since 1986, over 500 area residents have graduated from the Leadership Franklin County Community program. With expanded offerings in 2009, including Advanced and Youth programs, we are able to provide opportunities for leadership skills development to a broader audience.

LFC Youth is a year long program provided at no cost to high school sophomores from all six school districts in Franklin County. Leadership skills development, community awareness and career exploration are key program pieces. LFC Youth is sponsored by:

LFC Advanced is a venue for higher-ground leadership development that features local and national leaders. LFC Advanced has brought national speakers Lance Secretan, Steve Arneson, Scott Eblin and Horacio Sanchez to Franklin County to speak about topics such as Conscious Leadership, The Next Level, Boot Strap Leadership, and Competencies for the New Economy. Workforce Development Programs

LFC Community is a nine month, tuition based program that  Brings together current and emerging leaders who represent a cross-section of the community.  Creates an awareness of the problems, opportunities, and resources available in the area.  Stimulates a commitment to work together toward solving the County’s problems and making this a better place in which to live and work.  Builds and maintains networks of community leadership who know and trust each other. The Workforce Investment Board of South Central , PA has designated the Chamber Foundation an “intermediary” for Franklin County. We work to broker and support relationships between schools and employers for the purpose of providing students with real work experiences.

Career Website –www.franklincountyworks.com The Chamber Foundation re-launched www.franklincountyworks in 2016 with as updated look and streamlined functionality. The site serves as a community job board to connect area employers and employees. Members f any Franklin County Chamber of Commerce with 25 or fewer employees can post jobs for free. The site also offers advertising opportunities for workforce development events.

Innovative Technology Grants Through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program offered through the PA Department of Community and Economic Development, the Foundation offers grants to Franklin County educators that integrate innovative technology into the classroom. Area businesses have contributed through the EITC program over the last several years, making is possible for us to offer this program at www.newpa.com/eitc. Technology grants are awarded in October at the Foundation’s annual luncheon.

Over $377,000 in grants have been awarded to educators over the last sixteen years.

Community Education Coalition The Community Education Coalition (CEC) was formed in 2015 with the Grand Challenge of “Developing a strong community where all individuals have the opportunity to grow and prosper.” Through a partnership of Education, Business, and Community organizations, three priority area are being addressed to achieve this: Early Childhood Education, Employablility, and Well Being.
