Helping Others Follow Jesus. That’s our mission here at Asbury. And yes, it’s simple. But so is the Great Commission. Jesus said to “make disciples,” so that’s what we are here to do. In fact, everything we do—in every ministry and for every age group—is focused on helping others follow Jesus. If that’s a mission you believe in, we’d love for you to join us in worshipping Him, learning His ways and spreading His Word. Today you’re a guest with us. But after today, you’re just part of the family!

Congregational Gathering to discuss Asbury Satellite July 19, 6 pm, CLC Please join us on Wednesday, July 19, to learn more about the Asbury satellite church plant. We will host Jim Ozier, a newly retired UMC pastor and expert in helping churches start new congregations. He successfully launched three satellite church plants from his church in north Texas and is a national expert in helping churches just like us. He will educate us on the process and provide coaching to learn best practices for what promises to be a growing experience in the life of our church. Jim will also show how multiplying our faith with a new congregation is one of the most effective ways to reach new people for Christ and reinvigorate an existing church. Join us for dessert and coffee as we learn more. Child care provided for ages 6 weeks to 5th grade.

Telling Our Story Begins…

Asbury’s refurbishment continues to move forward! When complete, these enhancements will embrace the history of our church, showcase our mission work locally and worldwide, and tell our story of Helping Others Follow Jesus. • Contracts have been signed • Design and fabrication are underway • Installation will likely begin by fall 2017 • We will keep you posted with the latest developments!

Excerpt from the Sermon Journal, Monday, July 3, 2017 Written by Pastor Tom Harrison Miracle Grow: When we align with God’s will, we can bloom where we’re planted. Communion is our active participation in Jesus. As we are “in Him” through faith, and as He is “in us” through the Holy Spirit, so we are bound together as the Body of Christ and united to believers all over the world. But this bond is conditional—we must believe (trust) in Christ. Then we “work out” our salvation. We must get this right—we don’t work FOR our free gift of salvation—but we live it out. God’s plan is that Christians cooperate and participate with one another for the purpose of reaching the world for Christ. One of the greatest joys of the Christian life is growing through participation in the ministry of Jesus. We grow in faith by participation or we grow in boredom when we don’t make the effort.
