Is the Word of God Forever? Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of God stands forever.” Now, what is the Word of God? Interesting how our Savior refers to what is written by Moses as the Word of God. Mark 7:9-10a, 13 And He continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions! 10For Moses said... 13Thus you nullify the Word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.” Some doctrines out there try to convince us that the Word of God is not forever, that it can change, be abolished, etc. Can that be true? Either our Lord was correct in stating that what Moses wrote down was the Word of God or it was not the Word of God. Peter also said the Word of God is forever, quoting Isaiah. 1 Peter 1:24-25 All of mankind is like grass; and all of his glory is like the flower of the field. The grass withers and the flower fails; but the Word of God stands forever. This is the Word which was preached to you. So Peter says this is the Word that preached to you, quoting Isaiah; and what “Word” was Isaiah referring to? The Torah. Peter is also the one who recognized that Paul’s letters were being twisted to break the law of God, the Torah, into lawlessness. 2 Peter 3:15-17 And consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures. You therefore, beloved,

since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the lawless; This is why we need to test everything to His Word, in the end, we are accountable to what we believe, not what others believe for us. We hope that you have enjoyed this teaching. Remember to continue to test everything. Shalom!
