Over the past two centuries our congregation has changed, but our mission remains the same: to make disciples of Jesus Christ. We are inspired by the words of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, who encouraged believers to “do all the good you can, in all the ways you can.”

GriefShare | Begins Wednesday

GriefShare will meet again during the winter and spring of 2018! This thirteen-week faith-based curriculum features nationally recognized experts on grief and recovery topics. GriefShare groups are for people grieving the death of a family member or friend. We will meet each Wednesday from 10:00-11:30 a.m. in Room 100 and be led by Martha Aenchbacher. Our group will begin January 24 and conclude April 18. Please register online so that we will have materials prepared for you. There is a $20 fee to pay for your workbook. Senior Fun Luncheon | January 25

Prayer Beads Workshop

Scout Pancake Supper

Pack One will be hosting a pancake supper on Wednesday, January 31, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. This meal will take the place of our regular Wednesday night meal. Tickets can be purchased before and after 11:00 worship on Sundays, January 21 and 28, as well as on Wednesday nights beginning January 17. Cub Scouts will be located outside of Hancock Hall and in front of the preschool galleria to sell tickets on these days. If you purchased a semester Wednesday night meal package, it does not include the pancake supper—everyone will need a ticket for this meal! Only a limited number of walk-up meals will be available, so we encourage you to buy your tickets early! The cost is $5 per person with a $20 maximum per family.

Jesus Among Secular Gods

Join Susie Thrasher in Jesus Among Secular Gods, a videobased Bible study led by Ravi Zacharias and Vince Vitale. This study challenges the popular and trending philosophies of the day, pointing out the fallacies in their claims and presenting compelling evidence for absolute truth as found in Jesus and revealed in scripture. IHNA

During the week of February 11-18, we are partnering with the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Athens to host displaced families in our community in need of temporary housing. There are numerous ways to serve throughout the week. These opportunities include driving the IHNA van, preparing a meal, spending time hosting our guests in the evening and overnight, and helping with set-up and takedown at the beginning and end of the host week. There is a place for everyone to be involved with this wonderful ministry! Souper Suppers are back and in full swing! Each week we will be serving a meal to the community and providing an opportunity for community guests to receive needed household items. We are still in need of groups to provide and serve dinners for the months of March and April. This is a great way to serve with your UMW Circle, Sunday school class, small group, friends, and family! If you are interested in serving in other ways, we will also be collecting the following items for the Souper Supper store as a way we can continue to support our community: large bottles of dish soap, toilet paper in packs of 4, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and 30 gallon trash bags in boxes of 10. Dear Girls, You are Stronger Than You Think January 28 | 4:30 p.m.

This session is for mothers and daughters (grade 5 and older). Space is limited and registration is required. There will be a $30 fee per family to participate in this session. Kari's books and talks help girls navigate the big topics of their generation—friendship, identity, social media and faith—so they can discover their best life possible.

How to Love Your Teenager: Navigating Your Relationship into the Teen Years January 28 | 6:30 p.m.
