A Note from Pastor Phillips: Thank you for coming to worship with us today. If you are a first-time visitor, I would sure like the opportunity to meet you and welcome you personally. Because I believe in a Sovereign God, I don’t believe anything happens by chance. I believe you were brought here for a purpose. I would love to help you discover that purpose, and to see if there is any way we as a church can bless and minister to you and your family. Please stop by the Resource Center after the service so I can shake your hand. I’d sure count it a privilege. Pastor Harold

Thank you for joining us today for worship. Your presence was a blessing.

You made your Father proud! A NOVEL IDEA: Our homeschool book club will meet Monday, February 6 at 1:30 p.m. in room 115. We will be discussing Divergent, by Veronica Roth.

Praise and Play Presents Shepherding A Child’s Heart Calling all Moms…. Bring your children for play time while you join us on Wednesday mornings starting January 18 at 10:00 a.m. for fellowship and fun! We are starting the study Shepherding a Child’s Heart, which teaches how to speak to the heart of your child. The things our children do and say flow from their hearts. Written for parents with children of any age, this insightful book provides perspectives and procedures for shepherding your child’s heart into the paths of life. We look forward to digging into God’s word and fellowshipping with you! Have a friend or neighbor who is the mom of a small child? Invite her to join you! It’s a great way to ease someone into church and introduce them to our Savior. Please see Heather Adam, Melissa Nahm, Jaclyn Phillips or Whitney Stewart for more information. AGAPE CLOTHING MINISTRY Agape Clothing Ministry helps provide small household items and clothing to those in need. Rose Miller and Robin King run the ministry. If you know someone in need or want to donate something, call Rose at 610-417-5580 or Robin at 410-658-0120. If you have a large donation (more than one bag), please contact one of the ladies directly to avoid filling up the coat closet area. Thank you!

The Pearl Ministry (a new lay-counseling ministry of PVBC) seeks to assist the Pastoral staff by being available to minister to individual PVBC members in need of comfort, support, encouragement and prayer. The volunteer lay counselors will use the Scriptures, personal life-changing experiences and additional biblically-based trainings received through The Pearl Ministry to meet the needs of those seeking help. Training sessions begin Monday, Jan. 9 from 6 pm to 8 pm in the Jr. Church area of the Youth Center. For additional information, please contact Marlene Backert, MA; LCPC, BCPCC, NCC at 410-459-9219 or [email protected] MARCH FOR LIFE The 2017 March for Life in Washington, D.C. will take place Friday, January 27. If you are interested in attending the march, please sign up at the Welcome Center, so that we can determine who is interested.

Our public servants and first responders are facing more dangerous and uncertain times in their occupations these days. While we watch the news and shake our heads at the senseless acts of those who seemingly care only about making headlines, our men and women are out there on the front lines, putting themselves between us and danger. Please pray for those in our church and church family members who are serving as police officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians. To add a name to this prayer list, please call the office so we can support him/her in prayer. Thank you.
