Tel: 03457 11 41 41 Dear Neighbour, Crossrail Safety Improvements: Langley Station Footbridge, Slough - September 2016 Between West Drayton and Maidenhead, we are installing the infrastructure needed to support the new electric trains which will be used by Crossrail and the trains on the Great Western route. The new equipment requires us to carry out safety modifications and improvement work to Langley station footbridge to provide enhanced protection from the overhead lines. This includes raising the low protective walls (parapets) on the following dates:

Working times

Activity

Between Tuesday 06 September and Monday 26 September, 21:00 - 06:00 (until 08:00 on Sundays). Some daytime working may also be required.

Tuesday 06 September and Monday 26 September, 21:00 - 06:00 (until 08:00 on Sundays).

Erecting access towers, drilling and installation of parapet steelwork.

Accessing the parapets with necessary equipment and vehicles.

Expected impact Some noisy work, due to the building and taking down of scaffold towers, the use of an electric disc cutter, drilling and installation. Vehicle reversing alarms will be used. To provide a safe working space, we will need to close the footbridge overnight. Please use the pedestrian footpath along Station road as an alternative route during these closures.

For the safety of our engineers, we need to work during the night when passenger and freight trains aren’t running underneath. We will do our very best to complete the work in the most efficient way possible. While some noise is inevitable, we will make every effort to keep any disruption to a minimum. All staff and contractors on site will be briefed to work considerately. I’d like to thank you in advance for your patience while we carry out these surveys; If you have any queries, either before or while this work is taking place, please do get in touch with us if you have any questions either before or while this work is taking place; you can email [email protected] or call our dedicated 24-hour National Helpline on 03457 11 41 41.
