discussion questions 1. Overall, do you see the world getting better or worse? What evidence is there for your view? 2. How does the precision of fulfilled prophecies in Daniel 8 inform how you view the details of your life? How do you view God’s role in those details? 3. In view of the “bad news” of Daniel 8, talk about the difference between “fatalism” leading to despair and detachment and “realism” leading to action and purpose. 4. Read Acts 4:27–28 alongside Luke 22:63–24:43. God clearly used the evil actions of people at the cross to accomplish His good purposes of redemption. What parallels do you see with the prophecies regarding evil at the end of Daniel 8? How does this encourage you to trust God in the midst of difficulties in your life? 5. What does faithfully going about the “king’s business” (Daniel 8:27) look like in your life? How could it be more than just getting by? Message notes available at newhopechurchmn.org/messages.
