discussion questions 1. The man who was healed in Luke 5 had people who brought him to Jesus. Who was instrumental in introducing Jesus to you? 2. Read Isaiah 35:1–10. In what ways does Jesus fulfill these prophecies? How have you personally experienced these blessings of God’s presence in your own life?

3. This narrative illustrates Pastor Matthew’s definition of discipleship—moving toward Jesus and bringing someone with you. Who is in your life right now that you desire to bring to Jesus? Write their names down and commit to pray for them throughout this week. 4. The result of Jesus forgiving and healing this man is amazement, awe and glorifying God. Consider how Jesus has forgiven and healed you and respond in a time of worship together. In prayer or in song or both, practice the spiritual discipline of only allowing praise for who God is and thanksgiving for what he has done to pass over your lips.
