THE POWER
OF PRAYER GOD’S POWER CHANGES THINGS! God’s people, the Israelites, were in trouble. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, made them slaves, killed their boy babies and did everything he could to make their lives hard. God saw what Pharaoh was doing to His people and heard their cries, so He sent Moses to rescue the Israelites and lead them out of Egypt. (Exodus 3:7-8) God did many miraculous signs and wonders to show Pharaoh His power. God’s power changed Pharaoh’s heart and he let God’s people go! Does God still have power today? Absolutely! What bad things are happening right now? Are there people, places or situations that need Jesus? Let’s make a list. FIRST, is there someone or something in your life or your family that need God’s help? Write that person’s name or the situation down on the card that says “ME.” SECOND, think about your school or neighborhood. Is there someone or something that need God’s help there? Write that person’s name or the situation down on the card that says “MY COMMUNITY.” THIRD, take a bigger look at our state, our country and the world. Are there bad things happening? Do they need God’s power in those places? Write down what you want to pray about on the card that says “MY WORLD.” Now let’s talk to God! Take each card and let God know what’s happening, and why the people, places or situations on each card need God’s help. Let Him know what’s on your heart. God hears your prayers! His power changes things! James 5:16 says, “The prayer of a godly person is powerful. Things happen because of it.”
