The Wednesday morning Women’s Bible Study will be resuming this week at 9:30am. We’re beginning a new series: Change: Facing the Unexpected. Hope to see you there! On Friday, January 29, Awana will host a family movie night from 6-8pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. Everyone is invited to join us for a fun evening! The “Sonshine” class has a heartfelt need for staffing. Currently, there is none. The students are waiting for a special person(s), or couple, who sense the Holy Spirit’s leading to step forward. Check out the “Sonshine” bulletin board in the hallway across from 2s & 3s, you’ll see a curriculum sample and some student photos. If your heart is tugging to serve in this ministry, please contact Gwen MacDonald in the church office.

Make a note now to add March 5-7 to your 2021 Calendar—it’s our next Missions Conference featuring several of our supported missionaries, along with our Sunday speaker, Dr. Michael McKay from Cedarville University. The focus will be on discipling through technology. On Friday, April 9, our church will host the live simulcast of Show Hope’s Hope for the Journey conference. The conference will help parents and caregivers to a deeper understanding of their children’s needs, particularly those with children who’ve experienced adoption and/or foster care. Register by January 31 for on-demand viewing (available April 9-May 31, 2021), at https://showhope.brushfire.com/ hopeforthejourney/467299.

Join us in the Sanctuary at 9:30am today for our Equip series titled, The Attributes of God. This study will look at: • • • • •

His sovereignty His holiness His grace His mercy His justice

As we fall into the routines of daily life, it’s easy to take these attributes for granted. Let’s start 2021 by choosing to recognize how these attributes impact our every day lives.

Welcome and Call to Worship

Pastor Aaron Brown

Our God Saves In the name of the Father, in the name of the Son, in the name of the Spirit, Lord, we come. We're gathered together to lift up Your name, to call on our Savior, to fall on Your grace. Hear the joyful sound of our offering as Your saints bow down, as Your people sing. We will rise with You lifted on Your wings, and the world will see that Our God saves, our God saves, there is hope in Your name. Mourning turns to songs of praise, our God saves, our God saves. Jesus Messiah He became sin Who knew no sin, that we might become His righteousness. He humbled Himself and carried the cross. Love so amazing, love so amazing. Jesus Messiah, name above all names, Blessed Redeemer, Emmanuel. The Rescue for sinners, the Ransom from heaven, Jesus Messiah, Lord of all. His body the bread, His blood the wine, broken and poured out all for love. The whole earth trembled and the veil was torn. Love so amazing, love so amazing. All our hope is in You, all our hope is in You, All the glory to You, God, the Light of the world.

Announcements and Offering Prayer

Pastor Jon MacDonald

You Alone When this life has overwhelmed me and I feel like giving up, I will cling to all You've promised, it will always be enough. When the world around me crumbles and it's hard to understand, I will run to You, my shelter, I am safe within Your hands. You are my help forever. I will not fear, God, You are with me, I know You're near, You'll never leave me, I will trust in You alone. When I'm broken in the silence I can hear You whispering, You're not alone here in these trials, I will hold you faithfully. And when my heart and strength have failed me, my God, You won't. Your name is mighty, I will trust in You alone. You are a fortress for the weak, the strength that carries me when I am on my knees The cross reminds my heart to trust Your faithfulness and love will always be enough. I will trust in You alone, I will trust in You alone. CCLI Song # 6412670 Casey Darnell | Seth Condrey © 2012 Ava Truth Music (Admin. by Music Services, Inc.) Message He Is Worthy, Revelation 5:1-14

Dr. Gary Hylander

Build My Life Worthy of ev'ry song we could ever sing, worthy of all the praise we could ever bring, Worthy of ev'ry breath we could ever breathe. We live for You, we live for you. Jesus the name above ev'ry other name, Jesus the only one who could ever save. Worthy of ev'ry breath we could ever breathe, we live for You, we live for You. Holy, there is no one like You, there is none beside You. Open up my eyes in wonder and show me who You are And fill me with Your heart, and lead me in Your love to those around me. I will build my life upon Your love, it is a firm foundation. I will put my trust in You alone, and I will not be shaken. Communion Is He Worthy Do you feel the world is broken? We do. Do you feel the shadows deepen? We do. But do you know that all the dark won't stop the light from getting through? We do. Do you wish that you could see it all made new? We do.

Is all creation groaning? It is. Is a new creation coming? It is. Is the glory of the Lord to be the light within our midst? It is. Is it good that we remind ourselves of this? It is. Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole? Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave. He is David's Root, And the Lamb who died to ransom the slave. Is He worthy? Is He worthy Of all blessing and honor and glory? Is He worthy of this? He is.

Does the Father truly love us? He does. Does the Spirit move among us? He does. And does Jesus our Messiah hold forever those He loves? He does. Does our God intend to dwell again with us? He does. Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole? Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll? The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave, He is David's Root, And the Lamb who died to ransom the slave From ev'ry people and tribe every nation and tongue, He has made us a kingdom and priests to God to reign with the Son. Is He worthy? Is He worthy of all blessing and honor and glory? Is He worthy? Is He worthy? Is He worthy of this? He is. He is.

Is He worthy? Is He worthy? He is, He is. He is worthy, He is worthy, He is. Dr. Gary Hylander Communion Message HE IS WORTHY Revelation 5:1-14

Few chapters of the Bible address the nature and work of Jesus Christ in such dramatic, visual form as Revelation 5:1-14. Here we are brought into the throne room of the universe, where God’s purpose for humankind is disclosed. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are central to what is described. Three titles are used to describe Jesus Christ: (1) the Lion of the tribe of Judah; (2) the Root of David; and (3) the Lamb. In John’s gospel, the Greek word for lamb is amnos, alluding to the Passover Lamb (cf John 1:29). In Revelation, John used a different word for lamb, arnion, which in Jewish literature carried the idea of a conquering lamb. In verse 6, John said I saw a Lamb standing as though it had been slain. Ponder the significance of this as we prepare our hearts for communion.
