Lesson 37 Jesus Teaches the Nephites to Pray

Goal: Daily Prayer is important. If we pray as Jesus taught, we will be protected from the influences of Satan.

Prayers Saying your prayers is like brushing your teeth-it's a habit you form, a commitment you keep. You should brush your teeth both morning and night, the same with your prayers when you’re choosing the right. Don't let your spirit or teeth begin to decay-PRAY (and brush) at least twice a day! Brushing your teeth is good for your physical health. Praying. It's good for your spiritual health!

Get on your Knees

Children All Over the World All over the world at the end of day, Heav’nly Father’s children kneel down and pray, Each saying thank you in his own special way, Saying thank you, thank you in his own special way. “Gracias.” (grah-see-ahs) “Malo.” (mah-loh) “Wir danken dir.” (veer don-ken deer) All over the world tender voices hear. Some say “tak,” (tahk) others “merci,” (mare-see) “Kansha shimasu,” (kahn-shah shee-mah-sue) we thank thee. Our Heavenly Father hears them; He understands each tongue. Our Heav’nly Father knows them; He loves them, loves them, ev’ry one. The young people who kneel down and ask God for faith and courage to resist temptation very early in life will find that temptation loses much of its luster. Beloved youth, get on your knees. The Lord has a testimony just for you, one that fits your size and needs. But you have to ask for it. Elder George P. Lee

To help you prepare to receive answers to your prayers, Heavenly Father has given you these steps to follow.

1. Study the situation and think about your choices.

3. Ask Heavenly Father if your choice is right.

2. Decide which choice you think is best.

4. Listen with your heart and mind. If the choice is right, you will feel good inside.
