Social Media Connections How to hook up Tastevin to post to Twitter and Facebook

Viewing Social Media Information

Log in as an Admin and impersonate an account. Select "Restaurant" from the "Manage" menu. Select the Social Media tab. Initially, the account will not be connected to any social media accounts, and no autoposts will exist. While you can create autoposts before connecting, there is one important limit: if you have not yet connected a Facebook account, autoposts can only post to the user wall, not to any pages. So it's best to connect accounts before creating autoposts.

Connecting to Facebook

Click on "Connect to Facebook account." This will take you to Facebook to authenticate. If you're not already signed in, you will need to sign in to Facebook. You'll see the app authorization dialog. Click "Go to App" to connect. This will bring up the permissions dialog, still in Facebook. Social Media Connections - 1

Facebook Permissions

Although Facebook insists on presenting these permissions as optional, they are required for us to post information to Facebook. Click "Allow." Facebook will return control to the Tastevin portal.

Connecting to Twitter

Click on "Connect to Twitter account." This will take you to Twitter to authenticate. If you're not already signed in, you will need to sign in to Twitter. You'll see the app authorization dialog. Click "Authorize app" to connect. Twitter will return control to the Tastevin portal.
