WELCOME If you are a visitor to All Saints, we want you to know how welcome you are-whether you have come from another part of the country, from across the world, or from another parish here in the Diocese of Dallas. Thank you for praying with us. Thank you also for your generosity, which helps us to celebrate All Saint's liturgies here in a fitting and beautiful way, and to offer a wide range of services to needy people living in the Dallas area. Enjoy your visit and know that you always have a home here at All Saints Catholic Church!

OUR VISION We gather as the Body of Christ: to grow in our faith, to serve, to share.

OUR MISSION We the faith community of All Saints, united in God's family through our Catholic tradition, gather to bear witness to the teachings of Jesus Christ and share His eternal mission. We come together for communal worship, education in faith, spiritual growth and fellowship. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, we reach out as Christ's hands to spread God's love, healing and forgiveness. We are committed to our tradition of hospitality, diversity and tolerance. We invite all to use their time, talent and treasure to make present the kingdom of God.

FROM THE DESK OF FR. ALFONSE... The question, "Who is my neighbor?" is really the same as asking "Who is my friend?" I believe the answer is someone who does not measure the cost. "Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give." This is the philosophy of Christ and of the protagonist forever known as "The Good Samaritan."

this reason, the first commandment is above the second!

Who is this "Good Samaritan?" It is unfortunate that the Lord cannot point to anyone among the crowd or among his followers. Instead, he must resort to a parable that points to a futuristic figure - himself. We are Christ’s witnesses that it pays off to be a "Good Samaritan." After all, look at what he has done for me!

A friend is someone who helps you when you just can't do it on your own. This parable revolutionizes the way we see each other and the way God wishes we help one another. We are to see one another not as an object but as a subject another I. "Love your neighbor as yourself" or to be more specific, "Love one another as I have loved you." What exactly does this mean? The parable given to us by Christ highlights certain demands placed on the Christian. We are to love without compensation; to remain, if possible, anonymous in our love and care; to go beyond the immediate need of the other; and to consider the delays or "nuisances" along our journey as part of our "Journey" that ultimately creates our destiny. This kind of friendship (really, love) is impossible if we do not love God with all our mind, heart, soul, strength and will. For

Once again Jesus leads the way because he places his love in the Father first. He is the one that forfeits his “savings” for our salvation; who insists on remaining anonymous; who appears as a foreigner in his own land; who saves those wounded by sin, wounded by evil beings, who cannot save themselves; and who demands nothing in return from us except to "love one another as I have loved you." In this life, we may not find a good friend or a good neighbor. Who cares! The Lord does not call his followers to find a good friend. He demands that we make good friends, regardless of who they are – Jew or Gentile, woman or man, sinner or saint. Jesus asks us to love our enemies - like me!

FAITH FORMATION NEW MASS TIMES EFFECTIVE AUGUST 3-4, 2019 For the past year, the parish has wrestled with parking congestion during our Sunday morning Masses. By mid-morning, our own parking lot is at capacity with an overflow of approximately 120 cars into the street and the neighboring shopping center. The new center owners plan to renovate soon. These new owners do not want us to use their parking spots and may enforce this with towing. Our goal is to celebrate the Eucharist as a family. After much consultation and study, we will start a revised Mass schedule beginning August 3-4: Saturday, 5:00 pm with a cantor Sunday, 7:15 am quiet, without music Sunday, 8:30 am with the contemporary choir Sunday, 10:00 am with a cantor Sunday, 11:30 am with the classical choir Sunday, 5:00 pm with the teen band Beginning the week after Labor Day, our new Faith Formation Class schedule for children age three through fifth grade will be: Sunday 10:00 am (starting September 8) Wednesday 4:30 pm (starting September 11) Junior High Faith Formation and High School gathering times will remain the same; Jr High Youth meet on Sundays 3:15 pm - 4:45 pm and High Schoolers meet Sundays after the 5 pm Mass. Please watch the bulletin and website for online registration instructions. In-person registration will be offered August 4, 2019, 8:30 am - 1:00 pm All Sunday morning Mass times will change August 4, impacting everyone frequenting those Masses. We ask everyone to adjust for the common good. Thank you to all who shared their concerns and perspectives. Thank you to our music ministers and other parish ministry coordinators who revised their liturgical ministry schedules to accommodate these changes. We are confident that this new schedule will provide excellent Sunday worship utilizing our existing parking. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.” Romans 8:28.

NEW THURSDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY!!! Jeff Cavins "The Bible Timeline: The Story of Salvation" will be facilitated on Thursday Mornings beginning September 12, 9:45 a.m. This Bible Study is open to all. We will take a 24 week journey through the entire Bible, going deep into each period of salvation history and discovering the amazing story woven throughout Scripture. $35 for the participant materials - financial assistance is available. Please do not let the cost deter you from attending.
