WEEK OF PRAYER & FASTING CENTRE STREET CHURCH, JANUARY 14‐18, 2013 Prayer Requests 1. Pray that throughout 2013 God’s people at Centre Street: a. Would demonstrate a passionate commitment to our God‐given mission: to reach people for Jesus Christ, and help them become fully devoted followers of Jesus. b. Would joyously pursue our 5 Guiding Principles: Pursue God, Pursue Relationship, Pursue Mission, Pursue Generosity, and Pursue Simplicity. 2. Pray for a growing passion at Centre Street to impact our families, neighbors, friends and co‐ workers with the good news of Jesus. 3. Pray that we will become a community of Christ‐followers devoted to prayer. 4. Pray that CSC people will become sensitive to God’s voice, hearing Him speak to us through His Word, His people, the needs of others, and the still voice of His Holy Spirit. 5. Pray that we will give sacrificially to God’s ministry here at CSC, and that our CSC congregation will become known as people who are generous in our service to others. 6. Pray that we will pursue greater intimacy with Christ. 7. Pray that we will discover greater spiritual and emotional health through Christ. 8. Pray that God would raise up a new generation of Christian leaders and workers for His cause. 9. Pray that our CSC small groups will develop a growing desire to be on mission for Christ and reach out into our neighborhoods and communities for Him. 10. Pray that God will use the upcoming CSC Apologetics Conference, ‘Be Ready’, March 8‐9, to help many people become established in their faith, and become effective communicators for Christ. 11. Pray that God would use the CSC church‐wide Alpha initiative planned for later this year to draw many people to Christ. 12. Pray for success in launching a North‐East Community Centre ministry for immigrants later this spring under the leadership of Ashwin Ramani. 13. Pray for wisdom in planning a proposed church facility for CSC’s northwest campus. 14. Pray that God would bless the efforts of CSC’s Young Adults: Monday night evangelism, ministry to prostitutes, downtown condo ministry, and the Jesus Church at the University of Calgary. 15. Pray that God use our Chaplain Ministry at S.A.I.T. to reach many young people for Christ. 16. Pray for our CSC Youth Ministry: for opportunities for teens to minister to their peers who don’t yet know Jesus; for volunteer leaders who will mentor and disciple the emerging generation; for parents to live the values of Christ’s kingdom before their teens. 17. Pray for our CSC Children’s Ministry: for volunteer leaders who will invest their lives in children; for kids to be open to give their hearts and lives to Jesus; for children who are dealing with grief due to parental separation, divorce, death, foster care, adoption, medical condition or disability. 18. Pray that God would use the CSC Special Needs Ministry to touch people with special needs and their families with the love of Christ. 19. Pray that God would use our CSC Worship Ministry each weekend to draw many people into intimate worship of our Triune God and a deeper walk with our Lord Jesus Christ. 20. Pray that God would use our upcoming “Why Believe?” Series, and CSC’s many Learning and Growth classes, to deepen relationship with Christ and our commitment to serve Him. 21. Pray that God would protect and prosper the ministries of our many CSC missionaries and partner churches around the world in Mexico, Ukraine, Moldova, Nepal, India, Cambodia, Kenya, and South Africa. 22. Pray that God would use the upcoming CSC “Ministry to Others” (MTO) weekend on Feb 2‐3 to deepen our commitment to serve the cause of Christ through world missions. 23. Pray that God would give wisdom to CSC’s Life Care Pastoral Team as they respond to the many challenging life issues that people in our Church and City face every day. 24. Pray that God would bless CSC’s upcoming inter‐generational Concert of Prayer on Friday, Feb 22; that hundreds of families would come and grow together in their commitment to prayer. 25. Pray that God’s Spirit would powerfully anoint Pastor Henry and each person who will preach at CSC in 2013. 26. Pray that God would bless, prosper and protect the marriages of husbands and wives at CSC. 27. Pray that God would give much grace and wisdom to parents who are fostering children, and who are adopting children. 28. Pray that God would lead CSC Seniors to effectively serve Christ with their time, talent and treasure, to become powerful prayer warriors and to mentor younger people. 29. Pray that CSC’s Ministry to Single Moms in 2013 would impact many single moms for Christ. 30. Pray that God would use the CSC One‐On‐One Discipleship Ministry to help people deepen relationships with Christ, especially new believers. 31. Pray that God would use CSC people to reach into the aboriginal communities in Calgary and surrounding reserves with the Gospel of Jesus. 32. Pray that God would empower the hundreds of volunteers who serve each year in CSC ministries, and that many more volunteers would hear the call of God for service and respond obediently in 2013. 33. Pray that God would prosper the ministry of His many churches and thousands of followers throughout Calgary in 2013. 34. Pray that God would pour out his gifts of leadership upon our CSC ministry leaders: a. Our CSC Board of Governors. b. Our Senior Pastor Dr. Henry Schorr, and Executive Pastor, Rev. Gordon Dirks. c. Our Regional Lead Pastors: Kent Priebe (Central Campus); Lawson Brown (NW Campus); Tim Hayes (Bridgeland Campus); Travis Wilkins (Airdrie Campus); John Pritchard (House Churches); Wayne Smele (Missions and Outreach); Kervin Raugust (Global Church Ministries). 35. Pray that God would empower CSC pastors who lead and serve in our various CSC ministries: Children, Youth, Young Adults, Special Needs, Life‐Care, Adult Small Groups, Support and Recovery, Men, Women, Singles, First Impressions, Worship, Spiritual Development, Missions and Outreach, Benevolence, Leadership Development. 36. Pray that God would empower CSC staff who are called to serve in the critical support functions of: Finance, Human Resources, Campus Services, Communications, Cafeteria and Appleseed. 37. Pray that God would bless the leadership and churches of our sponsoring denomination: The Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada. 38. Pray that God would give wisdom to those who lead and serve in our governments; a. City of Calgary‐ Mayor Naheed Nenshi and City Councilors. b. Province of Alberta – Premier Alison Redford and the Provincial Cabinet. c. Country of Canada – Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Federal Cabinet.
We pray this all for the glory of Christ’s name, and the advance of God’s Kingdom here at Centre Street Church, throughout Calgary, and around the world! Page 2
