Getting Around Downtown/Parking

About DDI

Downtown parking options include street, lot, and garage parking. There are four city garages that charge a nominal fee (see map on reverse). Take a ticket upon entrance and pay (via cash, credit/debit cards, or merchant validation vouchers) at pay stations when you exit. Sometimes there are special event rates, but visitors can pay the normal hourly rate if they will only be parked for a short time. Talk to the attendant to get the visitor rate.

a hub for history

Funding provided in part by the City of Durham.

Durham is dedicated to its history. In 2013, the long anticipated Durham History Hub opened its doors to make an interactive bridge between all phases of Durham’s life-cycle. From the Civil War to the civil rights movement, on up to today and beyond, the History Hub works to mark Durham’s place in history.
