October 2016

Crossrail Farringdon – Closure of Lindsey Street and Long Lane on 15 October 2016 Thank you for your patience whilst we continue building the new Crossrail Farringdon station. An architectural feature of the Eastern Ticket Hall (the site bounded by Charterhouse Street, Lindsey Street and Long Lane) will be the coffered ceiling, designed to acknowledge the Brutalist style of the nearby Barbican Centre.

Duration of work • Lindsey Street and Long Lane closure for crane operations and a large concrete pour at the Eastern Ticket Hall site • Saturday 15 October 2016 04:00 – 22:00 (subject to change if there are any delays)

What to expect

In order to achieve a good quality finish, it will be necessary to pour the concrete for the ceiling in one pour. To do so, we will position a large boom crane and pump adjacent to the ticket hall site on Long Lane. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused as this will also necessitate a one day closure of Lindsey Street and Long Lane. 04:00 06:00 08:00 22:00

Road closure comes in to effect Pump arrives on site and sets up Concrete pour starts Concrete pour is complete

In the event of any delays, the concrete pour may take longer than expected and therefore may go beyond 22:00. We apologise in advance should this be the case. All work will be carried out in accordance to permission and consents granted by the respective Local Authorities.
