Notification of energisation of the Crossrail overhead line equipment (25kV) in Zones 3 and 4 We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that on or about 00:01 on 20 May 2018, the Crossrail overhead line equipment from Westbourne Park to Stepney Green will be energised at 25,000 volts and from this time must be regarded as being live at all times.

The exact limits of the energisation are as follows and are shown on the diagram below:

What to expect

The section known as Zone 3 runs from the Network Rail connection at Westbourne Park to Fisher Street shaft and includes the open section (area of track not within a tunnel) between Westbourne Park and the Royal Oak portal. The section known as Zone 4 runs from Fisher Street shaft to just east of Whitechapel . The electrical supply will be taken and controlled from the feeder station at Kensal Green. Zone 1, which runs from Canary Wharf station to Abbey Wood station and Zone 2, which runs from the Network Rail connection at Pudding Mill Lane to Canary Wharf, via Stepney Green Junction, and includes infrastructure up to the east of Whitechapel, were energised in February and so from 20 May the whole central section area will be live. Dynamic testing of the new Class 345 trains has begun in Zones 1 and 2 and will be progressively introduced into Zones 3 and 4.

What we will do • Warning notices will be placed at all normal entrances to the railway corridor and on equipment visible to the public
