At CTK, we value authenticity, simplicity, empowerment, relationship, and caring about the community we live in. One key way we serve is by empowering small groups to make a difference through our local partners who address important issues for those in the hardest life circumstances. The opportunity below is a chance to tangibly demonstrate God's care, compassion, and love for those around us. As your church, we hope this makes it easy for you to put the Great Commandment to love your neighbor as yourself into action!

DVSAS SUPPORT CENTER DEEP CLEAN Who are we serving? DVSAS serves women, men, adolescents and children who have been directly or indirectly affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, or commercial sexual exploitation.

Who is helping connect us to their needs? DVSAS provides support services as well as leading the community toward ending these abuses of power. Our Downtown Support Center is where clients come to access the majority of our services; from assistance in filling out a protection order, to safety planning, support groups, legal advocacy, and ongoing advocacy. Sadly, their services are all too needed in our community. In fact, they served over 2000 people last year, 200 of them children.

How are we serving? On Saturday August 5th, from 9am-5pm, DVSAS needs help doing a deep-clean at our downtown support center located at 1407 Commercial St. This includes windows (inside only), surface wipedowns, blind dusting, paint touch-ups, Goodwill and/or dump runs, etc. We will provide the cleaning materials. We’re hoping you can bring old cleaning rags and a truck or two for transport and removal of old items. The more small groups that participate, the less time it will take! So if you have friends in another small group, think about inviting their group to join yours (up to 3 groups).

Who do you contact to commit to this opportunity and work out the details? Please find out how many from your group can make it on Aug 5th and then contact Meghan Hoglund at [email protected] or 360-671-5714 x1203.

If you need help in the process, Katrina at CTK is available ([email protected] or 733-1337 ext 221 Please share your project with us by using the hashtag #CTKserves on social media!
