NextGen Ministries Job Descriptions

Early Childhood (Birth-Kindergarten) We believe commitment and consistency are important when building relationships with children and students. The serving commitment varies depending on the role you choose. We ask leaders in Sunday morning roles to arrive 15-30 minutes before the service starts. Serving in NextGen Ministries should not take the place of attending a worship service, but be in addition to it.

Large Group Environment Leaders Worship Leader Presents the Monthly Bottom Line and Memory Verse in such a way that it becomes unforgettable to a child. Introduces the weekly video Bible Lesson and leads worship with energy and enthusiasm. Scripts and training will be provided. Leader should arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of service. Serving Commitment: 1-year commitment to serve weekly, every other month. Partnership Requirement: Must be a CPCC partner

Tech Leader Operates the video and computer equipment during the worship service. Leader should arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of service. Serving Commitment: 1-year commitment to serve weekly, every other month. Partnership requirements: None

Small Group Environment Leaders Check-in Host Greets and checks in families for their service hour. Welcomes preschoolers & kindergarteners into The Clubhouse Discovery Room. Present at the check-in area during the worship hour as the face and “front door” manager of the environment. Assists Ministry Team with dismissal procedures at the end of the service hour. Prepares curriculum materials for the ministry program as needed. Host should arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of service. Serving Commitment: 1-year commitment to serve weekly, every other month. Partnership Requirements: None

Nursery Leader Helps infants and toddlers (Birth-36+months) discover the love of Jesus by providing for their needs. Leads toddlers in a Bible story and curriculum activities. Nursery leaders are responsible for participating in a monthly team huddle 30 minutes prior to their service hour. Leader reports to assigned room 15 minutes prior to the beginning of a worship service. Serving Commitment: 1-year commitment to serve weekly, every other month Partnership Requirements: None

Small Group Leader Connects relationally with eight to ten preschoolers or kindergarteners to speak truth into their lives and celebrate spiritual growth. Leads their small group in activities prior to and following the worship time. Escorts their small group to and from large group worship and stays with their small group during the worship time. Leader is responsible for participating in a team huddle, beginning 30 minutes prior to their service hour. Serving Commitment: 9-month commitment (September – May) to serve every week. Partnership requirements: Must be a CPCC partner

Small Group Helper Assists Small Group Leader with activities prior to and following the worship time. Escorts their small group to and from large group worship and stays with their small group during the worship time. Offers support to the Small Group Leader for overall center management. Small Group Helper is responsible for participating in a team huddle, beginning 30 minutes prior to their service hour. Serving Commitment: 1-year commitment to serve weekly, every other month or 9-month commitment to serve every week. Partnership requirements: None

Clubhouse Explorations Leader Leads learning activities that provide curriculum enrichment in a fun, creative way. Connects relationally with children. Assists Explorations Coach with weekly management of room. Explorations is designed for children whose families attend 2 hours. Leader should arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of service. Serving Commitment: 1-year commitment to serve weekly, every other month. Partnership requirements: None

Environment Support Roles Early Childhood Curriculum Prep Team Prepares resources for use on Sunday mornings. Copies and sorts materials for the upcoming week and places them in the PreK/K Learning Centers or Nursery Rooms. Returns reusable resources from the prior week to the appropriate places. Curriculum prep team members can serve anytime during the week. Serving Commitment: 1-year commitment; Partner with team members to set schedule. Partnership requirements: None

Early Childhood Environment Support Team Prepares early childhood environments for use on Sunday mornings. Job opportunities include: cleaning team, laundry, stocking supplies, shopping. Serving Commitment: 1-year commitment; Partner with team members to set schedule. Partnership requirements: None
