Editorial GREAT NEWS! Crystal Growth & Design is honored to have received the award for 2001 Best New Journal (any category) from the Professional/Scholarly Publishing Division of the Association of American Publishers. The award was accepted on behalf of CGD on February 12, 2002 by the American Chemical Society Journal Publications staff. The receipt of this award is the direct result of the excellent papers we have received, the community response to the Journal, and the hard work of CGD’s Advisory Board, Topic Editors, and Journal office staff, in addition to the many people at the ACS and SPARC who put in long hours making the Journal a success. Update on CGD Citations: Let me conclude with an update on the status of citation of CGD articles. As I mentioned in my last editorial, the ACS was in the process of registering CGD for various scientific indexes. I am pleased to inform you that CGD will be included in Science Citations Index Expanded (included with Web of Science); ISI Alerting Services; Index Chemicus; Chemistry Citation Index; Current Chemical Reactions; Material Science Citation Index; Reaction Citation Index; and Current Contents Physical, Chemical and Earth Sciences. The Journal will be included in the subject categories Chemistry-Multidisciplinary, Materials Science-Multidisciplinary, and Crystallography. While some citations are appearing now, most will begin appearing in 2003. These indices will include all CGD citations from the Journal’s inception. R. D. Rogers Editor CG025512Z
