Entrusted, Part 3, Entrusted with the Spirit We are wrapping up our series on “Entrusted.” We have learned that as Christians we have been “Entrusted” by God—Invested with Trust We have been “Entrusted” with The Gospel: There Was a Pattern!!! Pattern to the Gospel Presentation: without Demonstration = Frustration Impartation: Supernatural Release Dedication: Do Not Be Ashamed to Tell or Show and Tell Consecration: Set Apart—Holiness--Live Holy Manifestation: A Life Shaped by Faith and Love

We Have Been “Entrusted” With The Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: “Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” We are the Temple of the Holy Spirit—We have been “Entrusted” to be a Vessel in which the Holy Spirit lives—He came and lives in us. This was purposeful by God to carry out His plan and redeem His people from the bondages of sin and death—Redemption. The Spirit is here to help us fulfill the plan God has for us...

We Have Been Entrusted to Receive and Release the Truth John 14:15-17: “If you love Me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father and He will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him because it isn't looking for him and doesn't recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.

Entrusted, Part 3, Entrusted With the Word, p. 2 The Spirit leads us in all truth—ever get a check in your spirit? That's the Holy Spirit working on the inside of us One of the greatest gifts we receive as a believer when the Holy Spirit comes and lives in us is Discernment. 1 John 4 talks about the Spirit recognizing other spirits Discernment: The ability to judge well The Psalmist wrote in the 119th Psalm verse 125: “I am your servant, give me discernment, that I might understand your statutes.”

The Holy Spirit Reminds us of the Word and Jesus' Desires John 14:26: “But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.

We Have Been Entrusted to Receive and Release Life Romans 8:11: “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, He will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” John 10:10: “The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” Proverbs 18:21: “The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.” 2 Peter 1:3--: “His divine power has given us everything we need for Life and Godliness through our knowledge of Him, who called us by His own glory and goodness.”

Entrusted, Part 3, Entrusted With the Word, p. 3 We Have Been Entrusted to Receive and Release Power Acts 1:8: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Power (Dunamis) = Miraculous Power, Abundance of Strength, Incredible Ability, Wondrous Work, Power to Perform. Witness (Martyr) = A Witness in a Legal Sense, One who Testifies or Confirms the Agreement, a Recording of a Transaction.

3 Areas of Power that Will Confirm Your Witness and Glorify God Power to Overcome—1 John 5:4: “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” Power to Progress—1 John 3:8: “The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.” Power to Prosper—Amos 9:13: The Plowman overtakes the harvest. Closing: 2 Corinthians 1:21-22: “It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and He has identified us as His own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything He has promised us.” 1 Timothy 6:20-21: “Timothy, guard what God has entrusted to you. Avoid godless, foolish discussions with those who oppose you with their so-called knowledge. Some people have wandered from the faith by following such foolishness. May God's grace be with you all.” Rev. Bryan A. Tomes, Crossroads Community Church, www.crossroadsconnects.com
