Eternal Weight of Glory 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 Main Idea: Though we experience temporary difficulty and decline, we do not lose heart knowing that Christ is producing for us an eternal weight of glory. Followers of Christ experience temporary difficulty and decline. ● our outer self is wasting away ○ 2 Corinthians 5:2 ● light momentary affliction ○ 2 Corinthians 1:4, 6, 8; 2:4; 4:8 Though we experience temporary difficulty and decline, we do not lose heart knowing that Christ is producing for us an eternal weight of glory. ● 16 ​So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. ○ Colossians 3:10 ● 17 ​For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, ○ Romans 8:15-18 ● 18 ​as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen.
