BIBLE

S TORY

Asaph is one of God’s people in the Old Testament. He wrote about some of his hard times in Psalm 77. He was sad because he felt like when he prayed, God wasn’t hearing him. He felt like God was far away. But then Asaph started remembering all of the good things that God had done for him and his family. He remembered how God had parted the Red Sea so His people would be safe from the Egyptians. He reminded himself of how faithful God is and how God is always there to guide us. It gave him peace when he thought about all of the mighty deeds God had done for His people.

Encourage them to remember back by prompting events that took place earlier in the year. Once each child has had a chance to decorate/write on multiple triangles, use the mini clothespins to clip the triangles to the twine. Hang the banner in the house where the kids can see it. Remind them that as they look at the banner they can remember how we can count on God because we’ve seen His great deeds in our lives. GOD’S
