Kathy’s work offers a witty but thoughtful perspective on personal, political and social commentary, and is predominantly in the medium of etching and oil on canvas. Mikayla, a year 13 Wanganui High School student, is a printmaker whose surrealist drypoint etchings contain quirky animals with human traits, whimsy and humour. Her work is influenced by the charming paintings of Joanna Braithwaite. Mikayla intends to go to University next year to study Fine Arts or Design.
