To Thu 13 Sep Fine Arts Whanganui Gallery Southland artist, Katherine Buess, has been printmaking for many years and, more recently, experimenting with paper sculpture. Her art practice also includes woodcuts, mixed media and jewellery. After two years of living in Vanuatu, her work has a Melanesian flavour. Katherine is interested in the use of leaves in the making of adornment, in particular the salusalu (a neck garland worn to mark special occasions).
