POSITION DESCRIPTION Eastern Cheer and Dance is seeking an energetic and creative individual to secure an exciting position as a Event Planning Intern. This position will allow the selected candidate to gain valuable work experience while assisting in the planning and execution of regionally located events for several corporate brands. Opportunities include experience in registration procedures and technology, project staffing and contract management. In addition, intern will work directly with vendors and facility management personnel as well as gain important skills in coordinating efforts and management of information between event staff, other personnel and sponsors. This internship has a fall component (October 2014 - December 2014) and winter component (February 2015 - April 2015 ), each extending 10-weeks. Interns are required to work 10-hours per week and on required weekends. A single intern may participate in both components or each component may be awarded to two different interns.

RESPONSIBILITIES • • • • • • • • • •

Assist in processing event registrations Assist in providing event confirmations Assist in researching and securing event facilities Assist in developing and managing event contracts Assist in packing for, setting up & tearing down for events Assist in securing and training event staff & personnel Assist in planning meals and travel for event staff & personnel Assist in development and distribution of assignments to event staff Hands on experience in event registration, admissions, vendor sales & personnel management Other event and planning projects as requested

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE • College Degree or Degree Candidate with a focus in Business Administration, Management, Event Planning, Marketing or Hospitality

The candidate must be very mature, professional and outgoing Must learn quickly while on the job Must be highly organized with great attention to detail Must have experience with Microsoft Office Must have great personality and be able to interact professionally with customers & staff Must have a valid Driver’s License and be willing to travel & work on weekends Must be a U.S. Citizen and qualified to work in the United States

Experience in event planning Experience working in retail, hospitality or customer service Excellent oral and written communication skills Experience in the Spirit Industry a plus

This is an unpaid internship however, intern will be paid a daily wage when working required events. Travel and/or a travel allotment will be provided by Eastern Meals and/or a meal allotment will be provided by Eastern Lodging will be provided by Eastern Eastern will provide uniforms and other apparel necessary for work Position likely to transition to Part-Time and/or Full Time Employment
