Navitas is seeking to employ an experienced Executive Director to join our growing North American team in Lowell MA. The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for overseeing the strategic academic and administrative functions of the assigned Navitas Business Unit (BU) and for managing successful business relationships with appropriate stakeholders at the host university. This role includes: management of day to day operational aspects including staffing, budgets and planning as related to the Academic program and student administration; ensuring quality educational outcomes, effectively positioning the Navitas Pathway Program in the University to ensure maximum growth; and management, mentoring and leadership of staff. Strategic planning and liaison with the University community are integral to the responsibilities of this position. The ED is also required to participate in and contribute to the effectiveness of the senior management team of Navitas in the USA.

Key Responsibilities  Overall management of the quality assurance regime and the provision of leadership and management of staff.  Present and maintain a favorable public and external image for the Navitas Pathway Program  Work effectively within and provide leadership to a cross-functional team environment and to the Navitas North America Corporate team and ensure that the Navitas Pathway Program responds to changes and initiatives within Navitas.  Develop and maintain effective relationships with the other business units in Navitas, maximizing synergies and developing appropriate opportunities to contribute to overall development of the Pathway Program, Navitas North America and in the wider, global context.  Lead the overall strategic planning function, manage a robust quality assurance regime and provide overall leadership to and management of staff  Monitor all aspects of public relations within the university partnership with the assigned BU to ensure understanding by the university partner of the Company’s goals and activities  Develop and enhance strategic alliances with the host university  Maintain and improve the Navitas Pathway Program’s competitive position through business growth via effective and financially viable product development tactics

 

Embed a rigorous continuous improvement ethos through monitoring and development of products, services and operational aspects of the Navitas Pathway Program based on feedback from customers, regulators and partners Oversee admissions requirements and selection procedures to ensure that they are competitive, fair, equitable and ensure access to those applicants who meet the requirements for success whilst remaining true to the aspirations and requirements of the host university Monitor academic standards and ensure that the Navitas Pathway Program maintains an appropriate level of quality in the learning program and academic outcomes according to the needs of all customers, regulatory agencies and the host university Manage the overall provision of administrative services to ensure the provision of best practice levels of customer service and care to students and to ensure that all governance and compliance standards are maintained Implement operations in accordance with national and state principles, standards and operational protocols and ensure that the Navitas BU Pathway Program maintains compliance with all aspects of the regulatory and legislative requirements. Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience • Graduate university qualifications, in educational administration or management or related field/s together with extensive managerial experience, preferably in international education. • Demonstrated leadership and management skills at both strategic and operational levels, including effective management of resources, financial and human. • Extensive experience in management and leadership roles, preferably in the postsecondary area. • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills. • Proven ability to initiate, lead and implement growth strategies and tactics which have made a significant contribution to sustainable business growth – preferably in an educational environment. • Demonstrated ability to innovate and communicate ideas effectively. • Demonstrated experience in the use of, technology to underpin course development and implementation. • Innovative thinking and proactive organizational and analytical skills and work habits. • Sound knowledge of equal opportunity, equity and workplace health and safety principles and ability to implement them at the strategic and operational level. • Proven ability to build a team, embed a culture of creative discipline and provide strong leadership. • Demonstrated capacity to be a team player in an entrepreneurial environment. • An understanding of the US post-secondary education sector. • Management experience in an education environment. • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally and domestically. • Legal right to work in the USA. • Ability to pass criminal background check. Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work for long periods of time at a workstation or desk, and must be able to remain in a stationary positon up to 75% of the time. The person in this position frequently communicates with students and staff, and must be able to converse with others in an exchange of accurate information in a clear and concise manner. The employee will need to occasionally move about inside the office and around partner campus locations to access files, and interact with students and other staff members. The person in this position constantly operates a computer and other office equipment such as copy machines, projectors, and phones. The employee may be required to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds such as boxes of supplies or event merchandise. The person in this position will frequently review student or staff documents and must be able to detect detail and transfer information as needed to internal systems.
