Fabric Requirements for Prayer Hearts: If you are making a quilt that you want to keep for yourself or give to someone, please purchase your own fabric. It should be 100% cotton. We suggest that you wash it before the workshop. Be sure to purchase fabric that is 42-44 inches wide or buy enough yardage to compensate for less width. Yardage: Background: 1 ½ yards (Choose a light white or off white fabric. A monochromatic or tone-ontone is a good choice.) Border fabric: ¾ yards Three fabrics for hearts: ½ yard of each color – Each of these should be colors that appear in the border.

Think outside the box, or heart. We think hearts will lend themselves to feminine fabrics, but there are many other things that are close to our hearts. Think about beloved animals, outdoors, camping, hobbies, and sports related to fabric choices. Since you are making this for yourself or someone in particular, make it personal.
